Kyle Murphy (American Football)
Kyle Neil Murphy (born December 11, 1993) is an American football offensive tackle who is a free agent. He played college football for Stanford University on a scholarship. At Stanford, he was a four-year starter primarily at offensive tackle for the Cardinal where he was named to multiple first-team and second-team All-Pac-12 teams. He was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the sixth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. Early years Murphy was born in Mission Viejo, California to Gary and Keri and attended San Clemente High School. While attending high school he lettered in not only football, but track and field where he was a shot put champion. While in high School he played in the 2012 U.S. Army All-American Bowl and was also awarded the U.S. Army's Glenn Davis Award, awarded to those who represent the Army's "high standard of excellence in community service, education, and athletic distinction." Tackle (gridiron Football Position)
Tackle is a playing position in gridiron football. Historically, in the one-platoon system prevalent in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, a tackle played on both offense and defense. In the modern system of specialized units, offensive tackle and defensive tackle are separate positions, and the stand-alone term "tackle" refers to the offensive tackle position only. The offensive tackle (OT, T) is a position on the offensive line, left and right. Like other offensive linemen, their job is to block: to physically keep defenders away from the offensive player who has the football and enable him to advance the football and eventually score a touchdown. Tight End
The tight end (TE) is a position in American football, arena football, and Canadian football, on the offense. The tight end is often a hybrid position with the characteristics and roles of both an offensive lineman and a wide receiver. Like offensive linemen, they are usually lined up on the offensive line and are large enough to be effective blockers. On the other hand, unlike offensive linemen, they are eligible receivers adept enough to warrant a defense's attention when running pass patterns. Because of the hybrid nature of the position, the tight end's role in any given offense depends on the tactical preferences and philosophy of the head coach as well as overall team dynamic.
