Kyiv Light Rail or Kyiv Express Tram ( uk, Київський швидкісний трамвай, translit.: ''Kyivs’kyi shvydkisnyi tramvai'') is a light rail rapid transit service that serves the Ukrainian capital Kyiv. The system is grade-separated from Kyiv's regular tram system. There are two separate light rail lines which are not connected. A third line has been announced. Both extant lines have intermodal stations providing links with the Kyiv Metro, urban electric train, in addition to other modes of the city's public transport. Livoberezhna Line (Kyiv Light Rail)
The Livoberezhna line is the second line of the Kyiv Light Rail, located in the eastern part of Kyiv. The tram corridor was opened on May 26, 2000, rebuilt from 2010 to 2012, and reopened again on October 25, 2012. Trams No 4 and No 5 run along the Livoberezhna Line. At one point, the Kyiv City Administration proposed extending the Kyiv Metro system to Troieschyna by creating the Livoberezhna Line, although this proposal was scrapped in 2014 in favor of keeping the light rail system. Pesa Twist is a articulated low floor tram produced in Bydgoszcz by Pesa SA. The Twist is currently operated in Częstochowa, Górnośląski Okręg Przemysłowy, Moscow, Kyiv, Kraków and Wrocław.
