Kyiv-Pasazhyrskyi
Kyiv-Pasazhyrskyi (''Kyiv-Passenger'', uk, Київ-Пасажирський) is a railway station in the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv. The station is a railway hub consisting of several railroad station buildings, along with its own repair facilities the Kyiv Electric Railcar Repair Shop, a railway depot with railyard, and integrated into a cityscape the railway sports complex. The station is part of the so-called Kyiv Southern Railway loop. Serving more than 170,000 passengers per day (as of 2005), the complex contains several buildings. The Central and Southern (Pivdennyi) Station buildings are located on both sides of the tracks used by long-distance trains, connected with an overpass leading the station platform. They serve international trains, most Ukrzaliznytsia passenger trains, some suburban trains, and the Kyiv Boryspil Express to the Boryspil International Airport. Kyiv Metro
The Kyiv Metro ( uk, Ки́ївський метрополіте́н, Kyivskyi metropoliten, ) is a rapid transit system in Kyiv that is owned by the Kyiv City Council and operated by the city-owned company Kyivsky Metropoliten''.'' It was initially opened on November 6th, 1960, as a single line with five stations. It was the first rapid transit system in Ukraine and the third in the Soviet Union, after the Moscow and St. Petersburg metros. Today, the system consists of three lines and 52 stations, located throughout Kyiv's ten raion (districts), and operates of routes, with used for revenue service and for non-revenue service. At below ground level, Arsenalna station on the Sviatoshynsko-Brovarska Line is the deepest train station in the world. Kyiv Boryspil Express
The Kyiv Boryspil Express is an airport rail link in Ukraine between Boryspil International Airport and Kyiv-Pasazhyrskyi, Kyiv, opened in November 2018. It is operated by Ukrzaliznytsia, Ukraine's State ownership, state-owned rail operator. History Initially, the project was implemented by the State Agency for Investment and Management of National Projects of Ukraine. Financing was provided by Exim Bank of China, Eximbank of China. PricewaterhouseCoopers has developed a business plan for the implementation of the national Air Express project. In 2017, the project was stalled after a string of scandals. On 16 February 2018, the Government of Ukraine, Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine allocated funds for the implementation of the project and the works commenced in May. Vydubychi Railway Station
Vydubychi ( uk, Видубичі) is a railway stop in Kyiv, Ukraine. It is part of the Kyiv Directorate of the Southwestern Railways. The station forms a transportation hub with the Vydubychi-Trypilski railway station which serves southbound trains, the Vydubychi metro station of the Kyiv Metro's Syretsko-Pecherska Line and the Vydubychi bus station serving long distance buses. Southwestern Railways (PZZ), ( uk, Південно-Західна залізниця) headquartered in Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, is a component part of the Ukrzaliznytsia company, its regional branch. Heorhiy Mykolayovych Kirpa ( uk, Георгій Миколайович Кірпа) (20 July 1946 in Klubivka, Khmelnytskyi Oblast – 27 December 2004 in Bortnychi, Kyiv) was a Ukrainian railway manager, statesman and politician, best known as the head of the Ukrzaliznytsia national railway company and Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications under President Leonid Kuchma. Political career In May 2002, Kirpa was appointed Minister of Transport by the then President Leonid Kuchma and on April 23 was awarded an honourable title Hero of Ukraine. In a publicly debated move in 2003, the President placed paramilitary railroad armed forces under the direction of Kirpa. Kirpa was a staunch supporter of Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych, and the BBC described him as "one of the most influential figures" in Yanukovych's government.
