Kwataine
Kwataine is a traditional authority under the paramount chief, Inkosi Yamakosi Gomani in Ntcheu District, Malawi most well known for its safe motherhood projects. This traditional authority area consists of an estimated 500,000 people, largely of Ngoni origin. Chief Kwataine Masina Chief Mac Julio Kwataine Masina is a former English and history teacher who is the Chief of Kwataine, Ntcheu, Ntcheu District in the Central Region. He is well known for initiating safe motherhood activities in his area in 1996. Ntcheu District
Ntcheu is a district in the Central Region of Malawi. It borders with the country of Mozambique. The district headquarters is Ntcheu, known as BOMA in the local language, but is most commonly called Mphate. It is run by Yeneya, the village headman. The district covers an area of 3,424 km.² and has a population of 659,608 people according to the 2018 Malawi Population and Housing Census. The Ntcheu district lies around halfway between Malawi's majors cities of Blantyre and Lilongwe - the capital city. Paramount Chief
A paramount chief is the English-language designation for the highest-level political leader in a regional or local polity or country administered politically with a chief-based system. Ngoni People
The Ngoni people are an ethnic group living in the present-day Southern African countries of Malawi, Mozambique, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, and Zambia. The Ngoni trace their origins to the Nguni and Zulu people of kwaZulu-Natal in South Africa. Joyce Banda
Joyce Hilda Banda (née Ntila; born 12 April 1950) is a Malawian politician who was the President of Malawi from 7 April 2012 to 31 May 2014. Banda took office as President following the sudden death of President Bingu wa Mutharika. She is the founder and leader of the People's Party, created in 2011.
