Kusatsu Line
The is a railway line in western Japan operated by West Japan Railway Company (JR West). It connects Tsuge on the Kansai Main Line with Kusatsu on the Biwako Line (Tōkaidō Main Line). History The Kansai Railway Co. opened the entire line in 1889/90, and was nationalised in 1907. CTC signalling was commissioned in 1979, the line was electrified in 1980 and freight services ceased in 1987. Construction of a new station, "Minami-Biwako", began in May 2006 and was planned to be completed in 2012; the station was proposed to allow passengers to transfer between the Tōkaidō Shinkansen and Kusatsu lines; however, in September 2006, the Otsu district court concluded that Ritto City issuing bonds to fund the station's construction was illegal under local finance law and the project was halted; the project was officially abandoned in October 2007. is a Japanese football club based in Kusatsu, Shiga Prefecture, although they also play matches in Ōtsu and Konan. Thespakusatsu Gunma
is a professional football (soccer) club based in Maebashi, Gunma Prefecture in Japan. The club plays in the J2 League, the second division of professional football in Japan. History The club was founded in 1995 in Kusatsu, one of the most well-known spa resorts in Japan, in 1995 as Liaison Kusatsu Football Club. The players were the students of specialized training college Higashi Nihon Soccer Academy. When the school was closed in 1999 due to financial difficulties, the players decided to stay in Kusatsu and keep the club alive. In 2002, the club was incorporated as K.K. Kusatsu Onsen Football Club with a future promotion to J. League in mind and adopted new team name , meaning "The Spa, Kusatsu". Because of J. Kusatsu Onsen
is a hot spring resort located in Gunma Prefecture, Japan, northwest of Tokyo. It is a popular tourist destination. There are 13 public baths at Kusatsu Onsen. The small bathhouses that are free for both town residents and tourists are managed by the townspeople themselves. The source of its hot water is nearby Mount Kusatsu-Shirane and the appearance of the waters range from cloudy to clear, because the sources of the water that the baths rely upon are different. The springs were known as a resort for centuries, but they became well known after the water was recommended for its health benefits by Erwin von Baelz, a German doctor who taught medicine at Tokyo University. The locals claim the hot springs can cure all forms of ailments. Guests have claimed that pain disappears while soaking in its hot water. Clyde Kusatsu
Clyde Kusatsu (born September 13, 1948) is an American actor and trade union leader of Japanese descent. Since 2013, he has served as the National Vice President of SAG-AFTRA Los Angeles Local. Life and career Clyde Kusatsu was born in Hawaii and attended Iolani School where he began acting and in Honolulu summer stock. After graduating with a theatre degree from Northwestern University, he got his first TV role on ''Kung Fu'' where was in four episodes. On ''M*A*S*H'' he played three roles in four episodes. Kusatsu also played Rev. Chong on several episodes of ''All in the Family''. During this period Kusatsu was also a member of East West Players, the oldest Asian-American theatre company in Los Angeles. Kusatsu has been a regular on several television series, beginning with ''Bring 'Em Back Alive'' on CBS (1982–83) and the Hawaii-set medical drama ''Island Son'' on CBS(1989–90), playing the Richard Chamberlain character's best friend, Dr. Kenji Fushida.
