Kurttepe
Kurttepe is a neighbourhood in the municipality and district of Çukurova, Adana Province, Turkey. Its population is 6,978 (2022). Before 2008, it was part of the district of Seyhan. The neighborhood is located at north end of the city, at the shores of Seyhan Lake. Governance Kurttepe is a mahalle and it is administered by the Muhtar and the Seniors Council. Economy Kurttepe is former village which annexed to the city as a mahalle, after the expansion of the city to the north. Major institution in the neighborhood is the Tüyap Exhibition Hall and the Seyhan Research Hospital. Transport Adana Metro ''Anadolu Lisesi'' station (alternatively known as Kurttepe station) is one kilometer south of the mahalle. Adana Metro
Adana Metro ( tr, Adana metrosu) is a rail rapid transit system extending along a north–south corridor through Adana, with 13 stations. It can transport 21,600 passengers per hour per direction. The total travel time on the metro, end to end, takes 21 minutes, including all stops. History The rapid transit system for Adana was initiated in 1988 after requests from the mayor Aytaç Durak and the Çukurova University rector Mithat Özsan to the Ministry of Transportation. A feasibility report was completed on May 30, 1990, by the consortium of PMBI A.Ş. and Brinckerkoff Int.Inc. The report was approved by the State Planning Agency and the construction of the rapid transit system was included in the 1993 investment program. Çukurova is a ilçe, district in the Adana Province of Turkey. District population of 389,000, is concentrated within the city of Adana, occupying north-west of the city. It is a modern residential district which came into being in the last 30 years as the city expanded north. Seyhan
Seyhan is a district-municipality in the Adana Province of Turkey, core of the Adana urban area. Seyhan is home to 35 percent of the residents of Adana Province and almost half of the residents of the city of Adana. It is the fifth most populous metropolitan district in Turkey. Seyhan is the first settlement area of Adana and currently the administrative, business and cultural center of the city. Muhtar (title)
A muhtar is the elected village head in villages of Turkey. In cities, likewise, each neighbourhood has a muhtar but with a slightly different status. Muhtars and their village councils ( tr, Azalar or Ä°htiyar heyeti) are elected during local elections for five years. However, political parties are not permitted to nominate candidates for these posts. Rural muhtars In each village, the muhtar is the highest elected authority of the village. (There is no mayor in a village.) Adana Central Railway Station
Adana station ( tr, Adana garı) is a railway station in Adana and one of the major railway hubs in Turkey. The station is located at the İstasyon Square, in Kurtuluş, Seyhan.
