Kurt Fischer (politician)
Kurt Fischer (1 July 1900, Halle (Saale) – 22 June 1950, Bad Colberg) was a German politician (KPD, SED). Biography Fischer was born in to a working-class family and worked as a teacher. In 1917 he became a member of the Spartacus League and in 1919 he joined the Communist Party of Germany. Because of his involvement in the March Action he fled Germany for the Soviet Union and worked as a teacher. He returned to Germany in 1923 and edited various newspapers and was party secretary of the KPD in Mecklenburg. He traveled to the Soviet Union again and joined the Communist Party of the Soviet Union and became a Comintern activist while studying at the Frunze Military Academy. Until the outbreak of the Second World War, Fischer was a spy for the GRU in China and was temporarily a military advisor to Mao Zedong. Kurt Joachim Fischer
Kurt Joachim Fischer (1 June 1911 – 14 March 1979) was a German writer who worked as a journalist, film critic and screenwriter. He was the co-founder and first director of the International Filmfestival Mannheim-Heidelberg. Life and career Fisher was born in Konstanz and received his doctorate from Heidelberg University in 1936 with a thesis on the organization of labour in the German civil service. He worked as a journalist and during World War II served in the German army as a war reporter and propaganda officer in charge of the Panzer-Propaganda-Kompanie 697 unit. Under the name Dr. Joachim Fischer, he published and wrote for ''The Panzerfaust'', the unit's propaganda magazine as did Heinz Heydrich. According to an account by Fischer published after the war, from 1942 to 1944 he and Heydrich participated in an underground operation that helped Jews escape from Berlin to Sweden via Copenhagen by providing them with forged identification and travel documents. Kurt Rudolf Fischer
Kurt Rudolf Fischer (February 26, 1922 – March 22, 2014) was a Jewish-Austrian philosopher who emigrated to Brno, Czechoslovakia, in 1938 and to Shanghai in 1940. He was born in Vienna. He became Chinese boxing champion and started studying philosophy at the University of California, Berkeley after World War II, where he made friends with Paul Feyerabend. From 1967 to 1980 he was professor at Millersville University of Pennsylvania in Millersville, Pennsylvania. From 1979 - 2008 he was honorary professor at the University of Vienna. Fischer was awarded the Gold Medal for Services to the City of Vienna in 2000 and in 2001. He also received the Austrian Cross of Honour for Science and Art, 1st class. Kurt von Fischer (25 April 1913 – 27 November 2003) was a Swiss musicologist and classical pianist. Life Fischer wurde was born on 25 April 1913 in Bern as the son of the mycologist Eduard Fischer. Fischer studied piano at the University of the Arts Bern, which he completed in 1935 with a diploma under Franz Josef Hirt. Later he was trained by Czesław Marek. In addition, he studied musicology at the University of Bern and received his doctorate in 1938. From 1939 to 1957 he worked as a teacher at the Bern Conservatory. From 1948 to 1957 he was appointed Privatdozent at the University of Bern. From 1957 to 1979 he taught musicology as ''Ordinarius'' at the University of Zurich, from 1974 to 1976 as Dean. He has also held visiting professorships in Europe, the US and Australia.
