The Kassel-based Kurhessenbahn (KHB) is the first of six regional networks to be created by Deutsche Bahn AG as part of its ''middle class offensive''. It forms a unit that is formally split into DB RegioNetz Verkehrs GmbH and DB RegioNetz Infrastruktur GmbH in order to comply with the legal requirements after separation of network and operations. The aim is to maintain low capacity utilisation by changing the organisational structure and local activities in the long term. Financial figures The ''Kurhessenbahn'' has a total of 65 stations (50 of its own) on a 275-kilometre network of five lines. 25 diesel railcars travel 2.5 million train kilometers (140 trains per day) and carry 6,500 passengers per day. This service is provided by 208 employees. The Kurhessenbahn also has a DB Class 218 diesel locomotive for freight and special transports. Brilon Stadt Station
Brilon Stadt (town) station is one of four passenger stations that are still in service in the town of Brilon in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It is located near the centre of Brilon. The former goods shed of the station is a listed building. History Brilon Stadt station was opened by the ''Westfälische Landes-Eisenbahn'' (Westphalian Provincial Railway, WLE) on 1 December 1898 with the first section of the Möhne Valley Railway from Belecke to Brilon. Exactly one year later, it was extended from Belecke to Soest. The section of the Alme Valley Railway from Büren to Brilon Wald was opened on 1 April 1901. This made Brilon Stadt station into a railway junction. The regularly scheduled passenger services on the Möhne Valley Railway between Belecke and Brilon ended on 26 September 1958. Bad Wildungen is a state-run spa and a small town in Waldeck-Frankenberg district in Hesse, Germany. It is located on the German Timber-Frame Road. Geography Location Bad Wildungen lies in the eastern foothills of the Kellerwald range in the so-called ''Waldeck'' holiday region, 11 km west of Fritzlar, and 35 km southwest of Kassel. Frankenberg (Eder)
Frankenberg an der Eder is a town in Waldeck-Frankenberg district, Hesse, Germany. The mountain at a ford over the Eder north of the Burgwald range was for a long time a fortified place, playing an especially important role under the Franks in the Saxon Wars. The town was built in 1233-1234 by the Thuringian Landgrave at the junction of two trade routes. The renovated Old and New Town have many half-timbered houses. In 2018 the town adopted the additional name "Philipp Soldan Stadt". Cölbe () is a municipality in Marburg-Biedenkopf district in Hesse, Germany. Battenberg (Eder) is a small town in Waldeck-Frankenberg district, the state of Hesse, Germany. The town is noted for giving its name to the Battenberg family, a morganatic branch of the ruling House of Hesse-Darmstadt, and through it, the name Mountbatten used by members of the British royal family, a literal translation of Battenberg.
