Merhawi Kudus Ghebremedhin ( ti, መርሃዊ ቕዱስን ገብረመድኅን; born 23 January 1994 in Asmara) is professional Eritrean cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . He was named in the start list for the 2015 Tour de France, becoming one of the first two black Africans to start the Tour alongside teammate and countryman Daniel Teklehaimanot. At the age of 21 Kudus was the youngest rider in the race. He was named in the start list for the 2016 Giro d'Italia. He competed in the men's road race at the 2020 Summer Olympics. Mohammed Kudus (born 2 August 2000) is a Ghanaian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Eredivisie club Ajax and the Ghana national team. Club career Nordsjælland Kudus arrived at Danish club Nordsjælland from the Ghanaian Right to Dream Academy, which he joined at the age of 10, in January 2018 together with two teammates, Ibrahim Sadiq and Gideon Mensah. Kudus made his official debut for Nordsjælland only three days after his 18th birthday, in a 2–0 defeat against Brøndby IF. He played from the first minute as a striker, but was replaced in the half-time. With his debut, he became the ninth youngest to make his debut in the history of the club. Sunan Kudus (born Ja'far Shadiq; 1500-1550), founder of Kudus, is considered to be one of the Wali Sanga of Java, Indonesia. He is said to have originated the wayang golek, and founded the masjid at Kudus using (it is said) the doors from the palace of Majapahit. History He was born Ja'far ash-Shadiq, the son of Sunan Ngudung and Syarifah (sibling of Sunan Bonang), thus the grandson of Sunan Ampel. Kudus ( Javanese: ꦏꦸꦢꦸꦱ꧀) is the capital and the namesake of the Kudus Regency in Central Java, Indonesia. Its name has an Arabic etymology (Arab: القدس al-Quds) connected to its foundation by the legendary figure Sunan Kudus. It also houses the mosque established by Sunan Kudus named Menara Kudus Mosque, one of the most important and influential mosques in Indonesia. Koedoes Residency ( nl, Residentie Koedoes) was an administrative division (Residency) of Central Java province of the Dutch East Indies with its capital at Kudus, which existed between 1928 and 1931. It was significantly larger than the present-day Kudus Regency, as it also contained Demak Regency and Jepara Regency. History The territory around Kudus and Demak was the core of the Demak Sultanate in the sixteenth century; after its decline the Mataram Sultanate came to claim it.
