Kuching South City Council
The Council of the City of Kuching South ( ms, Majlis Bandaraya Kuching Selatan, abbreviated MBKS) is the city council which administers the southern part of the city of Kuching in the state of Sarawak, Malaysia. This council was established after the city was officially granted city status on 1 August 1988. Their jurisdiction covers an area of 61.53 square kilometres. The council consists of the mayor plus thirty councillors appointed to serve a one-year term by the Sarawak State Government. DBKU is responsible for public health and sanitation, waste removal and management, town planning, environmental protection and building control, social and economic development and general maintenance functions of urban infrastructure Majlis Perbandaran Kuching (MPK). Kuching (), officially the City of Kuching, is the capital and the most populous city in the States and federal territories of Malaysia, state of Sarawak in Malaysia. It is also the capital of Kuching Division. The city is on the Sarawak River at the southwest tip of the state of Sarawak on the island of Borneo and covers an area of with a population about 165,642 in the Kuching North administrative region and 159,490 in the Kuching South administrative regiona total of 325,132 people. United Bumiputera Heritage Party
Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB; en, United Bumiputera Heritage Party) is a right-wing political party in Malaysia. It is currently the largest political party in Sarawak. Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu was formed from the combination of three parties in Sarawak; Parti Negara Sarawak, Barisan Rakyat Jati Sarawak and Parti Pesaka Anak Sarawak. The formation of the party was for the purpose of the improvement of the livelihood and protect the rights of the Bumiputera in many fields such as politics, economy and social. Padawan Municipal Council (''Malay: Majlis Perbandaran Padawan'') (MPP or PMC) is a local authority which administers Padawan municipality of the Kuching District, Sarawak, Malaysia. The agency is under the purview of Sarawak Ministry of Local Government and Community Development. MPP headquarters is located at Kota Padawan, at 10th mile (16 km) away from Kuching city centre. The Commission of Kuching North City Hall ( ms, Suruhanjaya Dewan Bandaraya Kuching Utara, abbreviated DBKU) is the commission which administers the northern part of the city of Kuching in the state of Sarawak, Malaysia. This commission was established after the city was officially granted city status on 1 August 1988. Their jurisdiction covers an area of 369.48 square kilometres. The commission consists of the commissioner plus nine commission members appointed to serve a one-year term by the Sarawak State Government. Kuching International Airport ( Initialised: KIA) is an international airport serving the entire southwestern region of Sarawak, Malaysia. It is located south of Kuching city centre. The airport is colocated with the RMAF Kuching, home to the No. 7 Squadron RMAF. The airport terminal is capable of handling five million passengers per annum and it is the fourth busiest airport in Malaysia. Progressive Democratic Party (Malaysia)
The Progressive Democratic Party (Malay: Parti Demokratik Progresif, Abbreviation: PDP), formerly known as Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party is a Sarawak based political party in Malaysia founded in 2002. The party was founded in the wake of the de-registration of the Sarawak National Party in November 2002 by a faction aligned to the Chief Minister of Sarawak, Abdul Taib Mahmud, led by William Mawan Ikom. The party has since rebranded in using a new name - Progressive Democratic Party since 2017 and has planned to expand to certain West Malaysian states e.g. Selangor, Negri Sembilan and Johor (where it has established 6 divisions at the moment).
