Krown Countdown U
Gridiron Nation presented by Krown Produce is a weekly college football recap and features show focusing on Canadians in the NCAA and USPORTS football. The show was previously known as Krown Countdown U until 2019 when the show moved to TSN across Canada. The show generally airs on Wednesday at 1pm ET and Friday at 3:30pm ET on TSN1 or TSN2. Previously, it was a recap and pre-game show broadcast by CHCH-DT across Canada, Thursday nights at 11:30 pm ET after local news and sports during football season. In the 2018 season the show's online distribution partner was CBC Sports. "KCU" complimented CHCH's coverage of OUA college football which was broadcast periodically on Saturday afternoons during the college football season. Jim Mullin
Jim Mullin is a Vancouver-based broadcaster, producer and promoter. In June 2019, he was elected as President of Football Canada, the governing body for gridiron football at the amateur level. He was re-elected to the position for a second term in June 2022. In December 2021, he was acclaimed for the position of General Secretary of IFAF. He is the producer and host of Krown Gridiron Nation on The Sports Network. He also hosted and produced Krown Countdown U Radio on the TSN Radio Network. He was the play-by-play voice for SHAW TV/Global TV for 10 years from 2007 to 2016. He was the play-by-play voice of the IFAF World Junior Football tournament in Mexico carried on CBC Sports in 2018. He is one of the two patrons of the Jon Cornish Trophy, presented annually to the top Canadian in NCAA Football. Ontario University Athletics
Ontario University Athletics (OUA; french: Sports universitaires de l'Ontario) is a regional membership association for Canadian universities which assists in co-ordinating competition between their university level athletic programs and providing contact information, schedules, results, and releases about those programs and events to the public and the media. This is similar to what would be called a college athletic conference in the United States. OUA, which covers Ontario, is one of four such bodies that are members of the country's governing body for university athletics, U Sports. The Hec Crighton Trophy (sometimes referred to as the Hec Crighton Award) is awarded annually to the most outstanding Canadian football player in U Sports. The trophy is named after the late Hec Crighton - teacher, coach, referee, and author of the Official Football Rule Book and the U Sports Rule Book. It was first presented in 1967 by the board of directors of the Canadian College Bowl. It is the Canadian equivalent to the American NCAA Heisman Trophy. The Western Mustangs program has produced the most Hec Crighton winners with seven as well as the most individual winners with six ( Tim Tindale won the award twice). Chris Flynn has won the Hec Crighton Trophy three times, consecutively, while no other player has won the award more than twice. The Green Men
The Green Men, known as Force (Adam Forsyth) and Sully (Ryan Sullivan), are supporters of the Vancouver Canucks of the National Hockey League (NHL). They are known for sitting beside the opposing team's penalty box during Canucks games at Rogers Arena with their green full-body spandex suits. The suits are zentai, from the SuperFan Suit brand. Forsyth wears the neon green suit while Sullivan, the shorter of the two, wears the darker suit. The two were inducted into the ESPN Hall of Fans in 2012. They have also appeared in a Pepsi billboard advertisement, wearing a Canucks jersey. BC Place is a multi-purpose stadium in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The Canadian Junior Football League (CJFL) is a national Major Junior Canadian football league consisting of 19 teams playing in five provinces across Canada. The teams compete annually for the Canadian Bowl. Many CJFL players move on to professional football careers in the Canadian Football League (CFL) and elsewhere.
