Kronos (comics)
Kronos (, ), also spelled as Chronos, is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character first appears in ''Iron Man'' #55 (Feb. 1973) and was created by Jim Starlin. Publication history Kronos first appears in the title ''Iron Man'', saving the soul of Arthur Douglas, killed by a barrage from the ship of the Titan, Thanos. Kronos subsequently uses Douglas' soul to create Drax the Destroyer, a being intended to kill Thanos, his own grandson. A back-up story in the alternate universe title ''What If'' reveals in flashback that many millennia ago the character was originally one of the immortal Eternals, and led a rebellion against his tyrannical brother Uranos. After a successful coup, Kronos fathered the Eternals Zuras and A'lars (also known as Mentor, the present leader of the Titanian Eternals), before being accidentally atomized during a botched experiment. Uatu Ulik Ultimaton Ultimaton, also known as Weapon XV, is a living weapon created by the anti-mutant supersoldier program Weapon Plus. The character was created by Grant Morrison and Chris Bachalo, first appeared in '' New X-Men'' #143 (August 2003). Ultimaton escapes from the Weapon Plus facilities, fights the X-Men and is destroyed. He is later resurrected to guard a child clone of Apocalypse. "Infinity" is a 2013 comic book crossover storyline that was published by Marvel Comics. Written by Jonathan Hickman with artwork by a rotating team of artists including Jim Cheung, Jerome Opeña, and Dustin Weaver, the series debuted in August 2013 and ran through November 2013. The storyline concerns issues built up in multiple Marvel comic books as part of the Marvel NOW! initiative, primarily ''Avengers'' and '' New Avengers''. These issues include a threat to the universe by an ancient race of aliens known as the Builders. The second is the mysterious ailments plaguing the universe with Earth at the center. Maelstrom is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Publication history Maelstrom first appears in '' Marvel Two-in-One'' #71 (Jan. 1981) and was created by Mark Gruenwald, Ralph Macchio, and Ron Wilson. There are multiple Cubes in the Marvel Universe, all of which are depicted as containment devices that can empower whoever wields them.
