Kristoffer Domeij
Kristoffer Bryan Domeij (October 5, 1982October 22, 2011) was a United States Army soldier who is recognized as the U.S. soldier with the most Military deployment, deployments to be killed in action; at the time of his death he was on his fourteenth deployment. Over ten years he had served four deployments Iraq War, in Iraq and at least nine War in Afghanistan (2001–2021), in Afghanistan; he trained as a Joint Terminal Attack Controller and was recognized as epitomizing the Ranger motto "Rangers lead the way". After a distinguished and highly decorated career, he was killed by a roadside improvised explosive device, along with two other Rangers, in Kandahar Province in Afghanistan. The Joint Fires Observer classroom building at Fort Sill is named in his honor. A film was made in his memory. An improvised explosive device (IED) is a bomb constructed and deployed in ways other than in conventional military action. It may be constructed of conventional military explosives, such as an artillery shell, attached to a detonating mechanism. IEDs are commonly used as roadside bombs, or homemade bombs. IEDs are generally done in these terrorism operations or in asymmetric unconventional warfare by insurgent guerrillas or commando forces in a theatre of operations. Ranger Assessment and Selection Program (RASP) is an 8-week course held at Fort Benning, Georgia. , RASP replaced both the RIP (Ranger Indoctrination Program) for enlisted Soldiers and ROP (Ranger Orientation Program) for Officers, both commissioned and noncommissioned and below to be assigned to the U.S. Army's 75th Ranger Regiment. RASP is designed to prepare soldiers, many of whom have just graduated Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training and are still considered "fresh" recruits, for assignment to the 75th Ranger Regiment. Jessica Dawn Lynch (born April 26, 1983) is an American teacher, actress, and former United States Army soldier who served in the 2003 invasion of Iraq as a private first class. On March 23, 2003, she was serving as a unit supply specialist with the 507th Maintenance Company when her convoy was ambushed by Iraqi troops during the Battle of Nasiriyah; Lynch was seriously injured during the offensive and captured by Iraqi soldiers shortly afterwards.
