Kristine Elisabeth Tånnander (born 21 November 1955) is a retired Swedish hepathlete. A heptathlon is a track and field combined events contest made up of seven events. The name derives from the Greek επτά (hepta, meaning "seven") and ἄθλος (áthlos, or ἄθλον, áthlon, meaning "competition"). A competitor in a heptathlon is referred to as a heptathlete. The 1984 Summer Olympics (officially the Games of the XXIII Olympiad and also known as Los Angeles 1984) were an international multi-sport event held from July 28 to August 12, 1984, in Los Angeles, California, United States. It marked the second time that Los Angeles had hosted the Games, the first being in 1932. California was the home state of the incumbent U.S. President Ronald Reagan, who officially opened the Games. These were the first Summer Olympic Games under the IOC presidency of Juan Antonio Samaranch. Kjell Uno Jörgen Tånnander (born 25 June 1927) is a Swedish retired decathlete who won a bronze medal at the 1950 European Athletics Championships. He competed at the 1948 and 1952 Summer Olympics and finished in 15th and 7th place, respectively.
