Kristina Vaculik
Kristina Vaculik (born July 9, 1992) is a Canadian artistic gymnast who represented Canada at the 2012 Summer Olympics. In 2011-2012, Vaculik took a year off from Stanford University, which she is attending on a gymnastics scholarship, in order to train full-time for the Olympics. Junior career 2006 In April, Vaculik competed at the Pacific Rim Championships in Honolulu, United States. The Canadian team placed second and individually Vaculik placed fifth with an all around score of 57.450. In event finals, she placed third on uneven bars scoring 14.500, seventh on balance beam scoring 14.050, and sixth on floor scoring 14.550. In May, Vaculik won the all around title at the Canadian Championships in Quebec City, Canada with a score of 57.95. Artistic gymnastics is a discipline of gymnastics in which athletes perform short routines on different apparatuses. Christine Jennifer Peng-Peng Lee (born June 27, 1993) is a retired Canadians, Canadian artistic gymnastics, artistic gymnast. She was a member of the Canadian team that qualified for the 2012 Summer Olympics and committed to attend University of California, Los Angeles, UCLA after the Olympics, where she led UCLA to a comeback win at the 2018 NCAA Women's Gymnastics Championship, 2018 NCAA National Championship. Lee prefers using her Chinese name, Peng Peng, when doing gymnastics and she claims that it makes her feel like "someone completely different." London Prepares series is the banner under which the test events for the 2012 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games were held. The events which make up the series took place in 2011 and 2012. The 2011 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships were held in Tokyo, Japan, from October 7–16, 2011, at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium. The 2010 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships was held at the Rotterdam Ahoy indoor sporting arena in the Netherlands from 16 to 24 October 2010. Osteochondritis Dissecans
Osteochondritis dissecans (OCD or OD) is a joint disorder primarily of the subchondral bone in which cracks form in the articular cartilage and the underlying subchondral bone. OCD usually causes pain during and after sports. In later stages of the disorder there will be swelling of the affected joint which catches and locks during movement. Physical examination in the early stages does only show pain as symptom, in later stages there could be an effusion, tenderness, and a crackling sound with joint movement. OCD is caused by blood deprivation of the secondary physes around the bone core of the femoral condyle. This happens to the epiphyseal vessels under the influence of repetitive overloading of the joint during running and jumping sports. During growth such chondronecrotic areas grow into the subchondral bone. There it will show as bone defect area under articular cartilage. The Artistic Gymnastics World Cup is a competition series for artistic gymnastics sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique (FIG).
