Kristin Jarmund
. Kristin Jarmund (born 26 September 1954) is a Norwegian architect. Education, carieer and awards Jarmund is a graduate of the Norwegian Technical University in Trondheim (Norwegian Institute of Technology) and the Architectural Association School of Architecture. From 1978 to 1983 she was employed at Telje-Torp-Aasen Arkitektkontor. In 1985 she started her own practice through Kristin Jarmund Arkitekter. The office was among Norway's leading offices and has won or been placed highly in several competitions. For Justervesenet's (Norwegian Metrology Service) new building at Kjeller, the office was awarded the Houens Foundation Award (Houens fonds diplom). Jarmund's work is characterized by clear and simple form, often described as “new-functionalism”. Her design language of remarkable clarity is evident in both color and in the attention to detail. The ''Great Norwegian Encyclopedia'' ( no, Store Norske Leksikon, abbreviated ''SNL''), is a Norwegian-language online encyclopedia. Norwegian Institute Of Technology
The Norwegian Institute of Technology (Norwegian: ''Norges tekniske høgskole'', NTH) was a science institute in Trondheim, Norway. It was established in 1910, and existed as an independent technical university for 58 years, after which it was merged into the University of Trondheim as an independent college. In 1996 NTH ceased to exist as an organizational superstructure when the university was restructured and rebranded. The former NTH departments are now basic building blocks of the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). Nydalen (station)
Nydalen is a rapid transit station on the Ring Line of the Oslo Metro. It is located at Nydalen in the Nordre Aker borough of Oslo, Norway. The station opened on 20 August 2003, as part of the first section of the Ring Line to Storo. The station is served by lines 4 and 5 of the metro, as well as several local bus services. Artistic effort was put into the construction of the station, and the escalators were built into the Tunnel of Light exhibition. Close by the station is the BI Norwegian Business School (BI) campus and several large working places. History The process of establishing a Ring Line to serve the northern parts of Oslo started in the late 1980s. Sverre Fehn (14 August 1924 – 23 February 2009) was a Norwegian architect. Life Fehn was born at Kongsberg in Buskerud, Norway. Kjell Lund
Kjell Lund (18 June 1927 – 17 August 2013) was a Norwegian architect, songwriter and singer. Lund cooperated with Nils Slaatto for many years. Personal life Lund was born in Lillehammer as a son of civil servant Arve Johan Lund and Margit Tora Hornes. He married Tove Berg in 1954. He died in August 2013. Career He studied at the Norwegian Institute of Technology whence he graduated in 1950. The architectural firm of Lund & Slaatto Arkitekter AS founded in 1958 as a partnership of Kjell Lund and Nils Slaatto. This firm was in operation until 1995. Among their designs are Asker City Hall (''Asker rådhus'') and Chateau Neuf, a student center at the University of Oslo at Blindern. They also designed the popular system ''Ålhytta'', a module based construction system developed in 1969. They also designed several churches. Nils Slaatto
Nils Slaatto (June 22, 1922 – March 16, 2001) was for more than two decades one of Norway's most prominent and influential architects, having a strong and distinctive impression on Norwegian architecture. Slaatto cooperated with Kjell Lund in an architectural firm partnership for many years. Background Nils Slaatto was born in the town of Lillehammer in Oppland, Norway. His father, Oddmund Eindride Slaatto, was a functionalist architect in Oslo in the years between the two world wars. His mother, Anine Wollebæk, was also an architect, graduating from the University of Technology, but never practised.
