Kristin Gierisch
Kristin Gierisch (born 20 August 1990 in Zwickau) is a German athlete specialising in the triple jump. She won the silver medal at the 2016 IAAF World Indoor Championships, 2016 World Indoor Championships, 2018 European Athletics Championships, 2018 European Championships and gold at the 2017 European Athletics Indoor Championships, 2017 European Indoor Championships . She also finished fourth at the 2015 European Athletics Indoor Championships, 2015 European Indoor Championships and ninth at the 2014 European Athletics Championships, 2014 European Championships. Her personal bests in the event are 14.45 metres outdoors (-0,5 m/s; Berlin 2018) and 14.46 metres indoors (Prague 2015). Competition record 1Did not start in the final. IAAF World Indoor Championships
The World Athletics Indoor Championships are a biennial indoor track and field competition served as the global championship for that version of the sport. Organised by the World Athletics, the competition was inaugurated as the ''World Indoor Games'' in 1985 in Paris, France and were subsequently renamed to IAAF World Indoor Championships in 1987. The current name was adapted with the name change of the sports governing body in 2019. They have been held every two years except for when they were held in consecutive years 2003 and 2004 to facilitate the need for them to be held in alternate years to the main World Athletics Championships (outdoors) in the future. [] The 8th European Athletics U23 Championships were held on 14–17 July 2011 in the Městský stadion (Ostrava), Městský stadion in Ostrava, Czech Republic. Russia topped the medal table with 20 medals in total, including 9 golds (after revision), before Great Britain, also with 20 medals, and Germany. 2016 European Athletics Championships
The 2016 European Athletics Championships was held in Amsterdam, Netherlands, between 6 and 10 July 2016. It was the first time the Netherlands hosted the event. Due to 2016 being an Olympic year, there was no racewalking and the marathon competition was replaced by half marathon. The Russian team did not participate due to the suspension of the All-Russia Athletic Federation by the International Association of Athletics Federations. However, Yuliya Stepanova was individually cleared by the IAAF to compete as an independent athlete; she participated in the European championships under the flag of the European Athletic Association. The women's triple jump at the 2015 World Championships in Athletics was held at the Beijing National Stadium on 22 and 24 August. The returning champion Caterine Ibargüen looked like the favorite, the most consistent jumper year round. The world leader was the returning silver medalist Ekaterina Koneva and even her world leading jump lost the competition to a wind aided jump by Ibargüen. The Olympic Champion Olga Rypakova had beaten Ibargüen both in the Olympics and at the 2011 World Championships, but not in the last three years. Gabriela Petrova took the early lead with her first jump 14.52. Former Ukrainian Hanna Knyazyeva-Minenko made a big improvement to her own National Record of her new country Israel with a 14.78. 2015 World Championships In Athletics
The 2015 IAAF World Championships ( zh, 第十五届世界田径锦标赛), the fifteenth edition of the IAAF World Championships, were held from 22 to 30 August at the National Stadium in Beijing, China. Forty-three nations won medals, 144 of which were awarded. Kenya topped the medal table for the first time, with 7 gold, 6 silver and 3 bronze medals. The United States won 18 medals, six gold, six silver and six bronze, which was the highest tally. Host nation China, finished 11th on the medals table, while Russia finished ninth. 205 IAAF member countries and territories participated, two more than in 2013, with new IAAF member, Kosovo, making its debut. 2012 IAAF World Indoor Championships – Women's Triple Jump
The women's triple jump at the 2012 IAAF World Indoor Championships took place March 9 and 10 at the Ataköy Athletics Arena. Ageless wonder 39-year-old Yamilé Aldama improved upon her already pending W35 World Record in qualifying. In the second attempt of the finals, she exceeded the existing record by 31 cm, which also proved to good enough for the win. While this competition is indoors, since 2000 IAAF rules allow for indoor records to count for overall (outdoor) records.
