Koumala is a rural town and coastal locality in the Mackay Region, Queensland, Australia. In the , the locality of Koumala had a population of 831 people. Geography In the east, Cape Palmerston National Park protects the landscape surrounding Mount Funnel and Cape Palmerston. To the west is the Hatfield Range known locally are the Koumala Range. A gravel road over this range provides alternate access to the Sarina hinterland and was the only route available for several years after the paved route over the Sarina range was destroyed by landslides that occurred during Cyclone Debbie. The main rail line between the Bowen Basin coal mines and the port of Hay Point also passes over this range with speed restricted to 60 km/hr on the downhill section of line because of several derailments which have occurred in this section of track. Daniel Marsden "Danny" Widdicombe is a musician from Queensland. Career In 2008 Danny Widdicombe, on resonator guitar and vocals, formed a country blues band the Wilson Pickers alongside John Bedggood on fiddle, mandolin and backing vocals, Andrew Morris on acoustic guitar and vocals, Sime Nugent on harmonica, guitar and backing vocals and Ben Salter on banjo and vocals. He also performs in a duo with Morris and has a solo career. At 19 years old, Widdicombe was diagnosed with leukaemia. In 2011 he released a solo album, ''Find Someone'', which he completed while his leukaemia returned. In 2019, Widdicombe teamed up with instrumental jazz trio Trichotomy for album ''Between the Lines''. Pascal Schumacher (born 12 March 1979 in Luxemburg) is a Luxembourgish jazz musician, composer and percussionist who has founded a number of groups including the Pascal Schumacher Quartet. He also plays and composes classical chamber music. Education Pascal Schumacher studied classical percussion at the Luxembourg Conservatory. He continued his studies at the Strasbourg Conservatory and at the jazz department of the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. He obtained master's degrees in jazz-vibraphone at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague with Frits Landesbergen and in musicology at the Marc Bloch University in Strasbourg.
