Kristel Macrohon
Kristel Macrohon (born 2 September 1996) is a Filipino weightlifter. She won the gold medal in the women's 71kg event at the 2019 Southeast Asian Games held in Manila, Philippines. At the 2017 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games held in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, she won the bronze medal in the women's 69kg event. In 2018, she represented the Philippines at the Asian Games held in Jakarta, Indonesia in the women's 69 kg event where she finished in last place. In that same year, she competed in the women's 71 kg event at the 2018 World Weightlifting Championships held in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan. In 2020, she won the bronze medal in the women's 71kg event at the Roma 2020 World Cup in Rome, Italy. Olympic Weightlifting
Olympic weightlifting, or Olympic-style weightlifting (officially named Weightlifting), is a sport in which athletes compete in lifting a barbell loaded with weight plates from the ground to overhead, with each athlete trying to successfully lift the heaviest weights. Athletes compete in two specific ways of lifting the barbell overhead: these are the snatch and the clean and jerk. The ''snatch'' is a wide-grip lift, in which the weighted barbell is lifted overhead in one motion. 2018 World Weightlifting Championships
The 2018 World Weightlifting Championships were held in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan from 1 to 10 November 2018. The logo of IWF World Championships 2018 has consisted of abstract illustration of weightlifting athlete designed by Ashgabat based design firm, Belli Creative Studio This was the first World Championship, after the IWF changed their weight classes and nullified all world records.
