Kazi Krishnokoli Islam is a Bangladeshi singer and lyricist. She won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer for the film ''Monpura'' (2009). Career Krishnokoli was born and raised in Khulna. She got music lessons from her mother Meherun Nesa, Shadhon Ghosh and Basudeb Biswas. She was enrolled in Chhayanaut The Chhayanaut Sangeet Vidyatan ( bn, ছায়ানট) is an institution devoted to Bengali culture, founded in Bangladesh in 1961. Monpura
''Monpura'' ( bn, মনপুরা), is a 2009 Bangladeshi Bengali film, directed by Giasuddin Selim. The film was remade into Indian Bengali in 2010 as ''Achin Pakhi'', which was directed by Anjan Das. ''Monpura'' is a romantic tragedy film set in rural Bangladesh. The shooting took place in various locations, including Dhunat in Bogra, Kushtia and Dhaka. Chanchal Chowdhury plays the role of Shonai. Farhana Mili made her debut in the role of Pori, the daughter of a fisherman. The young couple are supported by veteran actors Mamunur Rashid and Fazlur Rahman Babu. As Selim's large-screen debut and contemporary-folk soundtrack were released ahead of screening which was an instant hit, it received a huge media hype even before its release. Khulna
Khulna ( bn, খুলনা, ) is the third-largest city in Bangladesh, after Dhaka and Chittagong. It is the administrative centre of Khulna District and Khulna Division. The Chhayanaut Sangeet Vidyatan ( bn, ছায়ানট) is an institution devoted to Bengali culture, founded in Bangladesh in 1961. As in the case of many similar organizations, it was established during Pakistani rule in Bangladesh to promote and nurture the cultural and musical heritage of Bengal. Every year, Chhayanaut arranges activities in order to celebrate the Pahela Boishakh, the first day of the Bengali new year.
