Kris Mochrie
Kristopher Ian Mochrie (born 24 October 1984) is an English actor. He is known for his roles as Ali Gordon in the Channel 4 soap opera '' Brookside'' (2002–2003), Jez in the BBC drama series ''Ordinary Lies'' (2015) and Lee Posner in the ITV soap opera '' Emmerdale'' (2019). Early and personal life Mochrie was born on 24 October 1984 in Birkenhead, Cheshire to Lydia (' Kubicka) and Graham Mochrie. He studied at the Manchester School of Acting. In July 2009, Mochrie was sentenced to two years in prison for supplying ''gamma''-hydroxybutyric acid (GHB) and perverting the course of justice. His sentence was later reduced to eighteen months on appeal and he was released in December of that year on an electronic tag. Mochrie is gay and is engaged to ''Emmerdale'' co-star Max Parker, who played his on-screen brother. Birkenhead
Birkenhead (; cy, Penbedw) is a town in the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral, Merseyside, England; historically, it was part of Cheshire until 1974. The town is on the Wirral Peninsula, along the south bank of the River Mersey, opposite Liverpool. At the 2011 census, it had a population of 88,818. Birkenhead Priory and the Mersey Ferry were established in the 12th century. In the 19th century, Birkenhead expanded greatly as a consequence of the Industrial Revolution. Birkenhead Park and Hamilton Square were laid out as well as the first street tramway in Britain. The Mersey Railway connected Birkenhead and Liverpool with the world's first tunnel beneath a tidal estuary; the shipbuilding firm Cammell Laird and a seaport were established. In the second half of the 20th century, the town suffered a significant period of decline, with containerisation causing a reduction in port activity. The Royal Today
''The Royal Today'' is a British medical soap opera, and a spin-off of the similarly themed drama, ''The Royal''. The concept is that whilst ''The Royal'' is set in the late 1960s, ''The Royal Today'' featured the same hospital in the present day, with a new set of characters working in the same location. Each episode followed the events of a single day, and the show was broadcast daily (except for the weekends), so the series could be said to progress in real time. The first series of 50 half-hour episodes began on 7 January 2008 on the ITV network airing from 4 pm-4.30 pm. Although there were a number of running storylines, the series generally eschewed the use of cliffhangers. ''The Bill'' is a British police procedural television series, first broadcast on ITV from 16 August 1983 until 31 August 2010. The programme originated from a one-off drama, '' Woodentop'', broadcast in August 1983. The programme focused on the lives and work of one shift of police officers, rather than on any particular aspect of police work. ''The Bill'' was the longest-running police procedural television series in the United Kingdom, and among the longest running of any British television series at the time of its cancellation. The title originates from "Old Bill", a slang term for the police. Although highly acclaimed by fans and critics, the series attracted controversy on several occasions. ''The Northern Echo'' is a regional daily morning newspaper based in the town of Darlington in North East England, serving mainly southern County Durham and northern Yorkshire.
