Kris Kelderman
Kris Kelderman (born December 10, 1968 in Neenah, Wisconsin) was a U.S. soccer defender who is currently the head coach for the Milwaukee Panthers men's soccer team. Kelderman was a member of the U.S. team at the 1985 FIFA U-16 World Championship. He played professionally both indoors and out, including four seasons in Major League Soccer and was an assistant coach for D.C. United. Youth Kelderman learned the game from his father, Harry Kelderman, who was the head coach of Neenah High School soccer team, eventually playing for his father at Neenah from 1983 to 1987. While still in high school, Kelderman was selected for the U.S. U-16 national team which played in the 1985 FIFA U-16 World Championship. The U.S. went 1–2 in group play and did not qualify for the second round. Kelderman then attended the University of Virginia where he played on the men's soccer team from 1987 to 1990. Neenah () is a city in Winnebago County, Wisconsin, in the north central United States. It is situated on the banks of Lake Winnebago, Little Lake Butte des Morts, and the Fox River, approximately forty miles (60 km) southwest of Green Bay. MLS Cup 1997 was the second edition of the MLS Cup, the post-season championship match of Major League Soccer (MLS) in the United States. It was played on October 26, 1997, between D.C. United and the Colorado Rapids to determine the champion of the 1997 season. The soccer match was played in front of 57,431 spectators at RFK Memorial Stadium in Washington, D.C. D.C. United were defending champions and finished atop the Eastern Conference and the overall league standings despite being strained by runs in multiple competitions. Colorado had overhauled their roster after finishing last overall in the 1996 season and qualified for the playoffs with a losing record, finishing fourth in the Western Conference, but earned two upset victories in the playoffs. MLS Cup 1996 was the inaugural edition of the MLS Cup, the championship match of Major League Soccer (MLS), the top-level soccer league of the United States. Hosted at Foxboro Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, on October 20, 1996, it was contested by D.C. United and the Los Angeles Galaxy to decide the champion of the 1996 season. Both finalists finished in the top two spots of their respective conferences, with D.C. placing second in the East and Los Angeles atop the West. United Soccer League (USL), formerly known as United Soccer Leagues, is a soccer league in the United States and Canada. It organizes several men's and women's leagues, both professional and amateur.
