Kris Bubic
Kristofer Bubic (born August 19, 1997) is an American baseball, professional baseball pitcher for the Kansas City Royals of Major League Baseball (MLB). Amateur career Bubic attended Archbishop Mitty High School in San Jose, California, where he played American football, football and baseball, and he graduated in 2015. As a junior, he was 8–2 with a 0.89 ERA, and as a senior, he compiled a 1.20 ERA and struck out 82 batters in 70 innings pitched. He was not drafted out of high school in the 2015 Major League Baseball draft and he enrolled at Stanford University where he played college baseball for the Stanford Cardinal. Bubic's father Mladen hails from Zemunik in Croatia. As a freshman at Stanford in 2016, Bubic was 0–3 with a 3.26 ERA in 21 games (six starts). Werner Park
Werner Park is a minor league ballpark located just west of Papillion, Nebraska, a suburb in Sarpy County southwest of Omaha. Opened in 2011, it is owned by Sarpy County. It is the home of the Omaha Storm Chasers (the Triple A affiliate of the Kansas City Royals) and USL League One professional soccer club Union Omaha. The Omaha Mavericks of the University of Nebraska Omaha also use the stadium for some home college baseball games. 2020 Kansas City Royals Season
The 2020 Kansas City Royals season was the 52nd season for the franchise, and their 48th at Kauffman Stadium. The 2020 season was the first under new owner John Sherman, whose purchase of the team was approved by the MLB on November 21, 2019. It was also the first season under manager Mike Matheny, replacing Ned Yost after having a nine-season tenure. The team finished with a 26–34 win–loss record, landing them fourth place in the American League Central. On March 12, 2020, MLB announced that because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the start of the regular season would be delayed by at least two weeks in addition to the remainder of spring training being cancelled. The Wilmington Blue Rocks are a Minor League Baseball team of the South Atlantic League and the High-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals. They are located in Wilmington, Delaware, and play their home games at Daniel S. Frawley Stadium. The Idaho Falls Chukars are an independent baseball team of the Pioneer League, which is not affiliated with Major League Baseball (MLB) but is an MLB Partner League. They are located in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and play their home games at Melaleuca Field. The 2018 Major League Baseball (MLB) First-Year Player Draft began on June 4, 2018. The draft assigned amateur baseball players to MLB teams. The draft order was determined based on the reverse order of the 2017 MLB season final standings.
