Arthur Kreutz
Arthur R. Kreutz (July 25, 1906 – March 12, 1991) was an American composer. Life and career Kreutz was born in La Crosse, Wisconsin. His paternal grandparents Frank R. Kreutz (originally ''František Kříž'') and Paulina Zahradníková were born in the Czech village Pístina. Arthur's second cousin was the composer Robert E. Kreutz. Kreutz composed the ''Paul Bunyan Suite'', the ''Dixie Concerto'', the score to Martha Graham's 1942 ballet '' Land Be Bright'', and ''Symphonic Blues'' (for orchestra) (1947); some of his orchestral pieces were played by the New York Philharmonic, with whom he appeared at times as a guest conductor. Among his other works is a 1954 opera about the University Greys of the University of Mississippi. Carolus Adrianus Johannes "Karel" Kreutz (born 1954) is a Dutch orchidologist, botanical writer and taxonomist, currently affiliated with the Centre for Biodiversity Naturalis in Leiden, Netherlands. He is regarded as an exceptionally experienced orchidologist, and has published orchid floras of Cyprus, Turkey, Rhodes, Crimea, Netherlands, Belgium and Germany, and is currently preparing a major overview in ten volumes of all orchid taxa in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East, employing modern taxonomy, nomenclature and research techniques. Kreutz has published over 200 scientific papers, and is the scientific authority for over four hundred plant taxa, predominantly in the Orchidaceae, but also in the genus Orobanche. Heinrich Kreutz
Heinrich Carl Friedrich Kreutz (September 8, 1854 – July 13, 1907) was a German astronomer, most notable for his studies of the orbits of several sungrazing comets, which revealed that they were all related objects, produced when a very large sun-grazing comet fragmented several hundred years previously. The group is now known as the Kreutz Sungrazers, and has produced some of the brightest comets ever seen. Kreutz was born in Siegen in 1854, and obtained his PhD at the University of Bonn in 1880 on the orbit of comet C/1861 J1. In 1882 he moved to Kiel, working at the observatory and university there. In 1896 he became the editor of the '' Astronomische Nachrichten'', the leading astronomical journal of the time, and held the position until his death in 1907. Olin George Kreutz (; born June 9, 1977) is an American former professional football player who was a center in the National Football League (NFL) for fourteen seasons. He played college football for University of Washington, and earned consensus All-American honors. He was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the third round of the 1998 NFL Draft and played professionally for the Bears and, very briefly, for the New Orleans Saints of the NFL. Kreutz was a semi-finalist for the NFL Hall of Fame in 2020 after being named to the 2000s All-Decade Team, and is frequently cited as one of the greatest modern offensive linemen. It was discovered on 21 November 1981, by Czech astronomer Luboš Kohoutek at the Calar Alto Observatory in southern Spain.
