Krept
Krept and Konan is a British hip hop duo from London, consisting of Casyo Valentine "Krept" Johnson BEM (born 4 February 1990, Gipsy Hill) and Karl Dominic "Konan" Wilson BEM (born 3 September 1989, Thornton Heath), the son of Delroy Wilson otherwise known as 'Jamaica's first child star'. Their first major release was the mixtape ''Young Kingz'', released on 2 September 2013. As of 3 May 2013, Krept and Konan signed a record deal with Virgin EMI Records. Their debut album '' The Long Way Home'' was released on 5 July 2015 and entered the UK Albums Chart at number 2. The duo's highest-charting single is " Freak of the Week" featuring Jeremih, which charted at number 9 on the UK Singles Chart. Blaine Cameron Johnson (2 March 1990 – 9 February 2019), known professionally as Cadet, was a British rapper. The younger cousin of Krept, Johnson began pursuing a solo career as a rapper in 2011, releasing a number of freestyles through YouTube outlets such as OSM Vision and Link Up TV. His debut project, '' The Commitment'', was released in 2016, followed by '' The Commitment 2'' the following year. He is perhaps best known for his single "Advice" featuring Deno, which peaked at number 14 on the UK Singles Chart. Johnson died in a car accident on 9 February 2019 on his way to a gig at Keele University in Staffordshire, three weeks before what would have been his 29th birthday. ''Young Kingz'' is the third mixtape by the British hip hop duo Krept and Konan. The mixtape was released on 2 September 2013 on Play Dirty. It entered the UK Albums Chart at number 19 and the UK R&B Chart at number three. Background and release ADP of London Boy Entertainment was the executive producer. Production also included Maestro, Scholar & Stix, Steel Banglez, Adot, Rymez, EY. The mixtape featured rappers such as Fekky, Tinie Tempah, Giggs, Chip, Yungen, and G FrSH, and was accompanied by spoken word artist George the Poet and singer Yana Toma. The first visual from the project was "My Story" published via YouTube on 4 August 2013. It received 550,000 YouTube hits in less than 24 hours. ''The Long Way Home'' is the debut studio album by British hip hop duo Krept and Konan. Originally scheduled for release on 6 July 2015, the album was released a day early on 5 July 2015 by Play Dirty, Virgin EMI and Def Jam. The album features guest appearances from British singers Emeli Sandé, Rebecca Garton and Ed Sheeran, American singer Jeremih, American rappers Rick Ross, YG and Wiz Khalifa, British rapper Skepta and Derrick Morgan. The title, artwork and release date was published on 23 March 2015 via Twitter. Tayo Jarrett (born 5 April 1986), better known as Scorcher, is a British grime MC, songwriter and actor from Enfield, London. He was previously a member of the grime collective The Movement and is signed to Blue Colla Music. Career 2005–08: Early career He began his career in Cold Blooded where he became known for his "shank" bars, and would regularly attend pirate radio and work his way up through the North London grime circuit. Scorcher served a short prison sentence in 2006 for driving offences, and while in jail his mixtape ''Simply the Best'' was released and was greeted with good reviews from the grime scene.
