Kremlyovskaya Street (russian: Кремлёвская улица; tt-Cyrl, Кремль урамы, translit=Kreml uramı) is the main street of the city of Kazan, Republic of Tatarstan, Russia. The street runs from and is named after the Kazan Kremlin to the north. The street stretches south to the Kazan State University campus, located on both sides of the street. The Kazan Kremlin (russian: Казанский кремль, Kazanskiy kreml; tt-Cyrl, Казан кирмәне) is the chief historic citadel of Russia, situated in the city of Kazan. It was built at the behest of Ivan the Terrible on the ruins of the former castle of Kazan khans. It was declared a World Heritage Site in 2000.
