Kristen Noel Woods (born December 9, 1987) is a Nashville-based indie-pop singer/songwriter best known for her single "Cave In", which was featured on MTV's 2011 season of '' The Real World: Las Vegas'' and peaked at No. 10 on the iTunes singer/songwriter charts, also gaining more than 30,000 views on YouTube. Biography Woods was raised in Franklin, Tennessee, graduating from Centennial High School (2006) before attending Auburn University, from which she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in musical theatre in 2010. Career Woods began working with award winning producer and engineer John Jaszcz and production teaZodlounge Musicto release her first five-song EP under Jaszcz'independent record label in March 2011. John Jaszcz (pronounced "Yosh") is an American music engineer, producer, and mixer. "Yosh," as he has been nicknamed, currently resides and works in Franklin, Tennessee. He is a well-known engineer in the R&B and Gospel music communities. He has mixed albums for Kirk Franklin (Grammy Award winning 2005 release ''Hero'' among others), Dorinda Clark Cole, Tye Tribbett, Israel Houghton, Kurt Carr, Hezekiah Walker and Ledisi. John Jaszcz got his start in Detroit as an engineer for records by Parliament-Funkadelic, Bootsy Collins, George Clinton, Zapp, and Commissioned. Indie pop (also typeset as indie-pop or indiepop) is a music genre and subculture that combines guitar pop with DIY ethic in opposition to the style and tone of mainstream pop music.
