Kosta Taušanović
Kosta Taušanović (May 4, 1854 in Aleksinac – January 26, 1902 in Rijeka) was a Serbia, Serbian politician, minister and banker. He studied agriculture in Tábor (then in Austria-Hungary, today in the Czech Republic) and commerce in Hohenheim (Germany). Taušanović was a prominent member of the People's Radical Party, among its founding members and one of the closest collaborators of its leader Nikola Pašić. A Russophile, and an opponent of the House of Obrenović, Obrenović dynasty, Taušanović was persecuted by the Royal government on several occasions. After the Nikola Pašić#Timok rebellion, Timok Rebellion (1883) he was, along with many other Radical leaders, sentenced to eight years in prison, but was pardoned in early 1886. He was a negotiator of the Liberal-Radical Coalition of 1886. Aleksinac
Aleksinac ( sr-Cyrl, Алексинац) is a town and municipality located in the Nišava District of southern Serbia. According to 2011 census, the town has a population of 17,978 inhabitants, while the municipality has 51,863 inhabitants. History Prehistory and Antiquity The territory of the municipality of Aleksinac has been inhabited since the neolithic age. Most of the settlements in the area belong to the Vinča cultural group, and are located on the western side of the South Morava river. After the fall to the Romans this territory was included in the province Upper Moesia and after 293 AD it was in the Mediterranean province Dacia. A Roman military road ( Via Militaris) was built in 1st century AD across the territory. There were also two stations for rest (mansio) and change of horses ( mutatio) along the road on the territory of Aleksinac: Praesidium Pompei and Rappiana. The Kalemegdan Park ( sr, / ), or simply Kalemegdan ( sr-Cyrl, Калемегдан) is the largest park and the most important historical monument in Belgrade. It is located on a cliff, at the junction of the River Sava and the Danube. Kalemegdan Park, split in two as the Great and Little Parks, was developed in the area that once was the town field within the Belgrade Fortress.
