Koss Corporation is an American company that designs and manufactures headphones. Headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, since 1958, the company invented the first high fidelity stereophones. Koss continues to design and manufacture headphones and audio accessories. History John C. Koss founded the J.C. Koss Hospital Television Rental Company in 1953. Paul Francis Kossoff (14 September 1950 – 19 March 1976) was an English guitarist, mainly known as the co-founder and guitarist for the rock band Free (band), Free. He was ranked number 51 in ''Rolling Stone''s list of the "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time". Early years Kossoff was born on 14 September 1950 in Hampstead, London, the son of Margaret (née Jenkins) and actor David Kossoff. His uncle was the broadcaster Alan Keith and he was a cousin of the judge Brian Keith (judge), Brian Keith and the model Linda Keith. Aged nine Kossoff started classical guitar lessons with Blanche Monroe. His classical guitar training continued until he was fifteen. In December 1965 he saw Eric Clapton with John Mayall's Bluesbreakers at The Refectory, Golders Green, North West London. This encounter inspired him to purchase a Gibson Les Paul guitar. Stephen Koss
Stephen Edward Koss (1940 – 25 October 1984) was an American historian specialising in subjects relating to Britain. Koss received his BA, MA, and PhD from Columbia University, where he was a student of R.K. Webb. He began his academic career at the University of Delaware, and became an assistant professor at Barnard College, New York City in 1966, and then a full professor in 1971. He was appointed a professor of history at Columbia University in 1978, where he had completed his bachelor's and master's degrees, as well as his doctorate; the doctoral thesis was turned into his first book ''John Morley at the India Office, 1905–1910'' published in 1969, the same year as his biography of R.B. Haldane. He was also a visiting fellow at All Souls College, Oxford. Adele Mildred Koss, known as Milly Koss, (born 11 July 1928, died 11 September 2012) was an American computing pioneer. The Association for Women in Computing awarded her an Ada Lovelace Award in 2000. She attended Philadelphia High School for Girls and graduated in Mathematics from University of Pennsylvania in 1950. During her first job interview with an insurance company, Koss, who was engaged at the time, was rejected for the reason that married women will have children and leave. She worked at Eckert–Mauchly Computer Corporation (EMCC) under Grace Hopper, programming the UNIVAC I. Her first big project was the development of what has become known as the 'Editing Generator', a sophisticated program to automatically format data for printing. Matthew Koss
Matthew B. Koss (born September 16, 1961 in Boston, Massachusetts) is a widely published solid-state physicist. Biography Koss received his AB degree from Vassar College in 1983 and a Ph.D. in experimental condensed matter physics from Tufts University in 1989. From 1990 to 2000, Koss worked at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute as Lead Scientist for the Isothermal Dendritic Growth Experiment (IDGE), a basic microgravity research project on dendritic solidification that conducted Space Shuttle flight experiments on STS-62, -75 and -87. Mathieu Bordaraud (; born 27 May 1990), better known by his stage name Mathieu Koss, is a French DJ, record producer, and composer from Nancy. In 2017, his cover of " Big Jet Plane" by Angus and Julia Stone with the Brazilian DJ Alok peaked at number one in Brazil and in the top 10 in multiple European countries.
