Tech University of Korea (TU Korea, ), formerly Korea Polytechnic University (KPU, ), is a Institute of technology, polytechnic university in South Korea. KPU was established in 1998 by support from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (South Korea), Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy. Located in Siheung-si, Gyeonggi-do. It was established to cultivate professional technical manpower with strong field adaptability through practical training. The abbreviation in English is KPU, and the abbreviation in Korean is Sangidae (산기대). As a university established by the Government, the proportion of research and laboratory practice is considerably large. Siheung, Gyeonggi Province
Siheung ( ) is a Administrative divisions of South Korea, city in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. The city has a population of 511,807 people, where 508,646 are residents out of 218,846 households as of August 2021. Siheung acquired its current administrative structure on January 1, 1989, the former Siheung County was divided into the cities of Siheung, Gunpo, and Uiwang. At the time, Siheung had a population of only 93,000. This number more than tripled in the following decade as massive suburban apartment complexes were developed. Today's Siheung city area formerly belonged to Incheon and Ansan before 1914. Notable landmarks include the Oido island, the Soraesan mountain, and the port and inlet of Wolgot. The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE) is a ministry under the Government of South Korea. It is concerned with regulating some economic policy, especially with regard to the industrial and energy sectors. The ministry also works to encourage foreign investment in Korea. The current minister is Lee Chang-yang. The ministry began in 1948 as the Ministry of Commerce in the First Republic. In 1993 it was merged with the Ministry of Energy, established in 1977.
