Abigail Kopf
On the night of February 20, 2016, a series of random Mass shootings in the United States, shootings took place at an apartment complex, a car dealership, and outside a restaurant in Kalamazoo County, Michigan. Six people were killed and two others were injured. Police detained a 45-year-old Uber driver, Jason Brian Dalton, in the shootings. He was subsequently charged with murder, assault, and criminal firearm use two days after the shootings. After he was found competent to stand trial, Dalton's lawyers planned a legal insanity defense for their client. Disagreeing with the strategies of his lawyers, Dalton pleaded guilty to all charges in a Michigan court on January 7, 2019. Herbert M. Kopf (June 25, 1901 – March 22, 1996) was an American football player and coach. He served as the head football coach at Manhattan College from 1938 to 1942 and as the head coach for the Boston Yanks of the National Football League (NFL) from 1944 to 1946. Playing career A star baseball player at New Britain High School in New Britain, Connecticut, Kopf switched to football when Washington & Jefferson College dropped its baseball program before his freshman season. A star offensive and defensive end, Kopf was a member of the 10-0 Presidents team that played in the 1922 Rose Bowl, becoming the first freshman ever to play in a Rose Bowl. William Lorenz "Larry" Kopf (November 3, 1890 – October 15, 1986) was a professional baseball player who played infielder in the Major Leagues from to . He would play for the Cleveland Indians, Philadelphia Athletics, Boston Braves and Cincinnati Reds. Best known for his part in the only double no hitter in major league history. Silas Kopf (born 1949) is an American furniture maker specializing in the art of marquetry. Kopf graduated from Princeton University in 1972 with a degree in architecture and soon began designing and making furniture. In 1988, he received a Craftsman's Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts, and used the opportunity to study traditional marquetry technique at the École Boulle, an institute of interior architecture and design, in Paris. His major projects include several pianos commissioned by Steinway & Sons and benches, desks, and cabinets for private collections and museums. Walter Henry "Wally" Kopf (July 10, 1899 – April 30, 1979) was a German American professional baseball player whose career spanned two seasons, which included one in Major League Baseball (MLB) with the New York Giants (1921). He played only two games, making his debut on October 1, 1921, and his final appearance the next day. In those games, he played third base, compiling one hit in three at bats.
