Kootenai High School
Kootenai Junior/Senior High School is a rural public secondary school located 7 miles south of Harrison, Idaho, serving families on the eastern side of Lake Coeur d'Alene to the State Highway 3 The following highways are numbered 3, H-3, PRI-3, AH3, E03 and R3. Harrison, Idaho
Harrison is a city in Kootenai County, Idaho, United States. The population was 203 at the 2010 census. Harrison is located on the eastern shore of Lake Coeur d'Alene, immediately south of where the Coeur d'Alene River flows into the lake. History The community was named for President Benjamin Harrison. Harrison was incorporated in 1899 and was once the largest city on Lake Coeur d'Alene. Harrison developed from a squatters homestead to a thriving village in about twelve years. A branch of the O.R. & N. Railroad from Tekoa, Washington, to Harrison was completed in 1890 and was a prime factor in the development of Harrison. In 1891, Silas W. Crane settled on a timbered tract which joins the present city on the south and east. He built the first house in Harrison which remained in the Crane family until 1936. Lake Coeur D'Alene
Lake Coeur d'Alene, officially Coeur d'Alene Lake ( ), is a natural dam-controlled lake in North Idaho, located in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States. State Highway 3 (SH-3) is a state highway in northern Idaho, connecting U.S. Route 12 near Spalding, east of Lewiston, with Interstate 90 near Rose Lake, east of Coeur d'Alene. It is in length and runs east of and generally parallel to Idaho's primary highway, U.S. Route 95. Route description SH-3's southern terminus is near Arrow Gulch Creek Bridge to the east of Spalding on US 12 on the Nez Perce Indian Reservation in Nez Perce County. It then heads generally northeast into eastern Latah County, where it leaves the reservation, and continues through Juliaetta and Kendrick, where it intersects SH-99. Saint Maries, Idaho
St. Maries (pronounced like "St. Mary's") is a city in north central Idaho, the largest in rural Benewah County and its county seat. Its population was 2,402 at the 2010 census, down from 2,652 in 2000. History The townsite was selected by Joseph Fisher, just southwest of the confluence of the two rivers, to provide a good place for a sawmill, first built in 1889. The rivers and lake systems provided rapid transportation systems for floating logs to the mills and utilizing steamboats to transport finish products to markets. From the city, the St. Joe River flows west, through several lakes and into the south end of Lake Coeur d'Alene. The Pacific Extension of the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad (Milwaukee Road) arrived in 1908.
