"Konstantine" is a song by alternative rock band Something Corporate. The song is the third track from their album ''Songs for Silent Movies'', which was only released in Japan. Meaning Although Something Corporate is no longer touring, fans of McMahon have been known to request the song while he toured with Jack's Mannequin and most recently under the moniker "Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness." In the past, McMahon refused to play the song, saying in an interview, "If I ever play it, I’ll have to play it forever, every night. If it weren’t such a big deal for me to play 'Konstantine', then I probably would play it. Something Corporate (also known as ''SoCo'') was an American rock band from Orange County, California, formed in 1998. Their last line-up included vocalist and pianist Andrew McMahon, guitarists Josh Partington and Bobby Anderson, bassist Kevin Page and drummer Brian Ireland. Following their formation, Something Corporate recorded demos that were eventually released as an independent, studio album entitled ''Ready... Break''. Soon after, they were signed to MCA Records but were released under the Drive-Thru Records banner for their debut EP ''Audioboxer''. Their first single, "If You C Jordan", was their most successful, peaking at number 29 on the Alternative Songs chart. Drive-Thru Records
Drive-Thru Records was a California-based independent record label owned by siblings Richard and Stefanie Reines. The label was partially responsible for popularizing the pop-punk/emo merger sound of the early to mid-2000s. After facing financial obstacles in getting their bands' music into stores, Drive-Thru entered into a distribution deal with MCA/Universal. In 2003 MCA was dissolved and folded into Geffen Records. One of the clauses of that agreement was MCA/Geffen being able to sign any band of their choosing from Drive-Thru's roster. Once the Universal deal ended, they signed a contract with independent label Sanctuary Records. Starting with a new roster, the label garnered a top 10 platinum hit with "Here In Your Arms" by Hellogoodbye. Jack's Mannequin was an American rock band formed in 2004, hailing from Orange County, California. The band originally began as a solo project for Andrew McMahon, the frontman of Something Corporate. Real Friends is an American pop punk band from Tinley Park, Illinois. To date, the band has released seven EPs and three studio albums. Previously signed to Fearless Records, the band is currently signed to Pure Noise Records.
