Konstantin Volkov (athlete)
Konstantin Yuryevich Volkov (russian: Константин Юрьевич Волков; born 28 February 1960 in Irkutsk) is a retired pole vaulter. Biography He represented the USSR. In 1980 he won the European Indoor Championships with a championship record of 5.60 metres (which was beaten the following year). He also won an Olympic silver medal at the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow. The Universiade is an international multi-sport event, organized for university athletes by the International University Sports Federation (FISU). The name is a portmanteau of the words "University" and "Olympiad".
