Jan de Koning (born October 7, 1949, in Amsterdam, Netherlands) is a Dutch footballer, scout and manager. He played as a forward. After working as assistant technical director at Liverpool F.C.'s Academy, he now scouts for Portsmouth F.C. in Europe. Player In his playing career, de Koning played for Ajax, Vitesse Arnhem, Lokeren, and Cercle Brugge. De Koning also regularly played for the Netherlands U18 and U21 national teams. Jan de Koning (31 August 1926 – 8 October 1994) was a Dutch politician of the defunct Anti-Revolutionary Party (ARP) and later the Christian Democratic Appeal (CDA) party and social geographer. De Koning joined the Dutch resistance against the German occupation in September 1943 and was at the time barely 17-years old. Following the end of World De Koning volunteered and enlisted in the Royal Netherlands East Indies Army as a Corporal serving in the Dutch East Indies from August 1945 until June 1948. De Koning studied Social geography at the Utrecht University obtaining a Master of Social Science degree. De Koning worked as a trade association executive for the Christian Farmers and Gardeners association (CBTB) from February 1955 until May 1971 and as a researcher at the Royal Academy of Arts and Sciences from November 1961 until January 1964. Hans de Koning (; born 5 April 1960) is a Dutch professional football manager and former player. De Koning played as a goalkeeper. Playing career De Koning played for AZ'67 for ten years, before moving to Twente, where he became known as "''Hansje de King''" (Hans the King) and played 140 games in five seasons with the club. He was forced to retire in 1993 after suffering a serious injury during Fred Rutten's farewell match. Coen De Koning
Coen de Koning (30 March 1879 – 29 July 1954) was a speed skater and cyclist. He started his sports career as a cyclist, but switched to speed skating and became the second Dutch speed skater to win a world title, in 1905. He finished second in 500 m, and won the 1500, 5000 and 10,000 m events. De Koning won the national all-around title in 1903, 1905 and 1912, and set national records in the 500 m and 10,000 m in 1905; these records stood until 1926 and 1929. De Koning also set a world record in one-hour skating, at 32,370 m in 1906, and won the Elfstedentocht in 1912 and 1917. Family De Koning came from a speed skating family. His brother Jacobus "Sjaak" Petrus de Koning won the national all-around title in 1914. Theo Koning (born 1950 in the Netherlands) was a Western Australian painter, sculptor, printmaker and art teacher, who for a time exhibited with the Galerie Dusseldorf in Perth. Koning immigrated to Western Australia in 1953 at the age of three, and graduated in fine art at the Claremont Technical School in 1973, in the same year becoming one of the founding members of the Western Australian Sculptors' Association.
