Kongsberg () is a historical mining town and municipality in Buskerud, Viken county, Norway. The city is located on the river Numedalslågen at the entrance to the valley of Numedal. Drammen Station (''Drammen stasjon'') is a railway station located in downtown Drammen in Buskerud, Norway. History Drammen Station was first opened in 1866 in Conjunction with the opening of the Randsfjorden Line. The station is the terminus of the Sørlandet Line, the Drammen Line and the Vestfold Line. Norsk Spisevognselskap A/S, often abbreviated NSS or shortened to Spisevognselskapet (Norwegian for "The Dining Car Company"), was a Norwegian state enterprise which operated restaurant carriages on Norwegian trains and restaurants at railway stations and railway hotels. The company was established in December 1918, and started a catering service in 1919. Originally owned by the Norwegian Trunk Railway, it was acquired by the state in 1926. Meals served in the restaurant carriages were relatively expensive, although they were available to all passengers. In the 1950s, the company began using serving trolleys on trains. In January 1975, NSS merged with the convenience-store chain Narvesen Kioskkompani into a new company called Narvesen–Spisevognselskapet. Gudmund Hoel (25 September 1877 – 7 September 1956) was a Norwegian architect. He is regarded as the second-most influential railway architect in Norway, after Paul Due. Biography He was born in Kragerø, Norway. Hoel graduated from Kristiania Tekniske Skole (today Oslo University College) in 1896. For six years he had various assistant jobs at architecture firms in Norway and Germany. From 1903-04, he conducted study trips to the United States. In 1904, he started working for Holger Sinding-Larsen, and in 1910 he established his own firm. Hokksund is a town in the municipality of Øvre Eiker in the county of Viken, Norway. History Hokksund is the administrative centre, and largest town in Øvre Eiker, with a population of around 8,000. Hokksund is located 18 km west of Drammen. The river Drammenselva flows through the town, 500m from the centre. Hokksund has developed on both sides of the river. Randsfjord Line
The Randsfjorden Line ( no, Randsfjordbanen) is an railway located in Viken county in Norway connecting Drammen to Hønefoss and Hadeland in Innlandet county. The railway is primarily used for passenger trains, and the only scheduled trains on the stretch are Norwegian State Railways express trains on the Bergen Line between Oslo and Bergen.
