Kongsberg Miners, also known as Bergkameratene Basketball, is a professional basketball team based in Kongsberg, Norway, playing in the Norwegian premier professional men's basketball league BLNO. Kongsberg Miners is currently the most successful basketball team in Norway, winning both the regular season and the Norwegian championship in the 2018/2019 season. History The team made their debut in the BLNO in the 2015–16 season. In the 2016–17 BLNO season, 2016–17 season, the team finished the regular season in the first place but failed in the playoffs after being eliminated in the semifinals. In the 2017–18 BLNO season, 2017–18 season, the Miners won the Norwegian championship by beating Asker Aliens in the finals. Robert Hubbs III
Robert Lee Hubbs III (born April 19, 1995) is an American professional basketball player for the Kongsberg Miners of the FIBA Europe Cup and the Norwegian BLNO. Hubbs was one of the most highly acclaimed recruits in University of Tennessee basketball history. He had shoulder surgery which ended his freshman season after 12 games. As a sophomore, Hubbs averaged 7.2 points and 2.9 rebounds per game under coach Donnie Tyndall. He increased his averages to 10.6 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game as a junior but missed some time with knee surgery. As a senior at Tennessee, Hubbs averaged 13.7 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game and was named to the All-SEC Second Team. After the season he signed with KK Sutjeska of the Montenegrin league. In July 2018, he signed with the Kongsberg Miners in Norway. 2018–19 BLNO Season
The 2018–19 BLNO is the 19th season of the Basketball League of Norway since its establishment. It started on 22 September 2018. Kongsberg Miners are the defending champions. Format The ten participating teams first played the regular season, that consisted in a round-robin schedule containing three rounds with every team playing each opponent at least once home and once away for a total of 27 matches. The FIBA Europe Cup (FEC) is an annual professional club basketball competition organised by FIBA for eligible European clubs. It is FIBA's European-wide second level. Clubs mainly qualify for the competition based on their performance in national leagues and cup competitions, although this is not the sole deciding factor. Kongsberg () is a historical mining town and municipality in Buskerud, Viken county, Norway. The city is located on the river Numedalslågen at the entrance to the valley of Numedal.
