''Stricken'' ( nl, Komt een vrouw bij de dokter) is a 2009 Dutch drama film directed and produced by Reinout Oerlemans and based on the book by the same name by writer Ray Kluun. The film was the highest-grossing Dutch film of the year with a gross of €9.3 million and is one of the 20 most popular Dutch films of all time. Plot Stijn ( Barry Atsma) is a rich, handsome and self-centered advertising executive who lives in a hedonistic world. Everything revolves around him. Reinout Oerlemans (; born 10 June 1971) is a Dutch soap opera actor, film director, television presenter and television producer. He is the founder of the TV production company Eyeworks. In 1989, while studying law at the University of Amsterdam, Oerlemans was "plucked off the street" and cast as a lead in the first Dutch daily, prime time drama ''Goede Tijden, Slechte Tijden''. Raijmondus "Raymond" Godefriedus Norbert van de Klundert (known commonly as Kluun or Ray Kluun, born 17 April 1964) is a Dutch author. He is well known for his novel ''Love Life'' (Dutch: ''Komt een vrouw bij de dokter''), in which he documents a fictionalized version of his own life story; a husband committing adultery while his wife is dying of cancer. Background Kluun's wife Judith died from breast cancer at 36 years old (2000).
