Koma Unwind Modified Madness Series
The Southern Modified Race Tour (formerly known as Koma Unwind Modified Madness Series in 2014 & 2015) was a modified stock car racing series that raced in the Southeastern United States. The series was formed in 2014 and is owned/operated by the Southern Modified Race Tour. The series features 2 classes of racing, the primary class (Modified) uses very similar rules package to the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour and other modified touring series in the northeastern United States. They also have a Mod Lite class that features similar rules package to the Modified Lite class at Caraway Speedway and to the Modified class at ACE Speedway and must declare their home track to 1 of those tracks. The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour (NWMT) (previously the NASCAR Winston Modified Tour and NASCAR Featherlite Modified Series from 1985 until 2005) is a modified stock car racing series owned and operated by NASCAR in the Modified Division. The Modified Division is NASCAR's oldest division, and is the only open-wheeled division that NASCAR sanctions. NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour events are mainly held in the northeastern United States, but the 2007 and 2008 tours expanded to the Midwest with the addition of a race in Mansfield, Ohio. Altamahaw is a census-designated place (CDP) in Alamance County, North Carolina, United States. It is part of the Burlington, North Carolina Metropolitan Statistical Area. As of the 2010 census it had a population of 347. The community was listed as Altamahaw-Ossipee at the 2000 census, at which time the population was 996. Cale Gale (born March 5, 1985) is an American professional stock car racing driver and crew chief. Karting Gale's racing career began when his father placed him on a go-kart at age 4. In 1989 at the age of five years, he began racing competitively at Mobile Motorsports Park in Kushla, Alabama, winning five features in his first year. The following season, Gale raced a full schedule, winning 25 feature races and the track championship. In 1991, Gale started competing at tracks other than Mobile Motorsports Park, racing at three different go-kart facilities winning a total of 12 feature races. From 1992 through 1994 he went on the road watching his father, Bubba Gale, compete in the NASCAR All-Pro touring series. After a three-year break, Gale resumed his go-kart career at Gulf Oaks Speedway in Saucier, Mississippi, winning ten features, the track championship, and also capturing his first state championship.
