Kolbjørn Brenda
Kolbjørn Brenda (March 9, 1914 – January 15, 1988) was a Norwegian actor. Brenda debuted in 1936 at the Søilen Theater in Oslo and was engaged there until 1939. He performed for eight years at the Falkberget Theater and two years at the Rogaland Theater, and from 1951 onward his artistic versatility made him a central figure in the ensemble at the National Traveling Theater. Among others roles, he played Jeppe in ''Erasmus Montanus'', seven roles in '' Peer Gynt'' in the same performance, and Dr. Onsø in Nils Kjær's ''Det lykkelige valg'' (The Happy Election). Brenda's parting role was the carpenter Engstrand in '' Ghosts''. In the 1930s he was active in Norwegian film, especially in Olav Dalgard's films. In the film '' To levende og en død'' (1937), Brenda played one of the postal workers. In 1975 he had the lead role in '' Streik!'' Brenda received the King's Medal of Merit in gold in 1986. Søilen Teater
Søilen Teater was a theatre that opened in Oslo in 1930. It was managed by Sophus Dahl until 1932. It was then a supporting stage for Chat Noir until 1934. From 1934 to 1939 the theatre was run by Henry Gleditsch, and from 1939 it was run by Aud Ricther. From 1942 it housed Leif Juster's stage Edderkoppen Theatre, and in 1945 it housed Studioteatret. ''By og land hand i hand'' (Town and Country Hand in Hand) is a 1937 Norway, Norwegian drama film written and directed by Olav Dalgard, starring Hans Bille and Lars Tvinde. The film was made by the Norwegian Labour Party for the 1937 Norwegian local elections, 1937 local elections. Plot The wealthy landowner Hans Bjørnstad (Bille) is approached by his workers for a raise, but is shocked by their radical socialist ideas. Later he talks to another landowner, Nils Tveit (Tvinde), who is more sympathetic to the workers' case. Through conversations with family members in Oslo, the two realise the advantages Labour government has brought, and the necessity of cooperation between town and country for the prosperity of the country. Trysil-Knut
''Trysil-Knut'' is a Norwegian film from 1942. Rasmus Breistein directed this skiing melodrama during the German occupation of Norway. It tells the story of the legendary skier Knut from Trysil, an ardent patriot at the beginning of the 1800s who uses his skiing skills to prevent war from breaking out between Norway and Sweden. Knut also wins back a property that he was cheated out of and his "princess." Like many of the films from the interwar period or the occupation years, this is an adventure story. Breistein's point of departure for the story was a popular novel by Rudolf Muus from 1914, and he was also inspired by Bernt Lund's poem from 1861 and by 's story from 1909.
