Jerry Buddy Long Jr. (born March 10, 1969), better known by his stage name Kokane, is an American recording artist best known for his distinctive vocal style and numerous guest appearances, such as on Snoop Dogg's ''Tha Last Meal''. Early life Long Jr. was born on March 10, 1969, in the Bronx, New York City, the son of Motown composer Jerry B. Long Sr. and singer Debra Long. His family soon relocated to Pomona, California, where he would grow up surrounded by his father's work and later joined the gang 357 Gangster Crips. He started his career at Eazy-E's Ruthless Records in 1989, co-writing songs for N.W.A and Above the Law, before releasing his first album, ''Addictive Hip Hop Muzick'', in 1991. Tha Eastsidaz is a hip hop trio consisting of Snoop Dogg, Tray Deee and Goldie Loc. Their first appearance was on Tommy Boy Records' ''The Ride: Music from Dimension'' with Crooked Eye Q on a Battlecat-produced song called "Feels So Good" in 1997. History Emergence (1997-2003) In 1997, after Snoop Dogg left Death Row records, he formed 'The Eastsiders' with Crooked I and Li'l C-Style. Gangsta rap or gangster rap, initially called reality rap, emerged in the mid- to late 1980s as a controversial hip-hop subgenre whose lyrics assert the culture and values typical of American street gangs and street hustlers. "Appetite for Destruction" is a song by American hip hop group N.W.A. The song is the second single from their final studio album ''Niggaz4Life''. The song also appeared on '' The Best of N.W.A: The Strength of Street Knowledge''. The music video featured members of N.W.A robbing a bank in a 1920s setting. After they rob the bank, the video returns to color and a modern setting. In the last scene, when the other members of N.W.A attempt to get away in a car, Eazy-E blows the car up killing the other members thus ending the song with the line, "Number 10 is my appetite to kill", referencing his version of the 10 Commandments in his verse.
