Chathannoor is around north of the state capital Thiruvananthapuram(Trivandrum). This town is one of the fastest developing towns in Kerala. It is a Special Grade Panchayath. Shri Diju is the current president of Chathannoor Grama Panchayat Geography Chathannoor is located at . Chathannoor is well connected to other parts of Kerala by road especially by NH66(formerly NH47). National Highway 66 connects Panvel, (Mumbai) and Kanyakumari and passes through Chathannoor.
