Kohima Municipal Council
The Kohima Municipal Council is the local council of Kohima. It was initially known as Kohima Town Committee (KTC) and had eight wards and four Government nominees. Kohima
Kohima (; Angami Naga: ''Kewhira'' ()), is the capital of the Northeastern Indian state of Nagaland. With a resident population of almost 100,000, it is the second largest city in the state. Originally known as ''Kewhira'', Kohima was founded in 1878 when the British Empire established its headquarters of the then Naga Hills District of Assam Province. It officially became the capital after the state of Nagaland was inaugurated in 1963. Kohima was the site of one of the bloodiest battles of World War II. The battle is often referred to as the '' Stalingrad of the East''. In 2013, the British National Army Museum voted the Battle of Kohima to be ''Britain's Greatest Battle''. John Bosco Jasokie
John Bosco Jasokie also J. B. Jasokie (1927 – 19 October 2005) was an Indian politician from the state of Nagaland. He became the Chief Minister of Nagaland on two occasions as part of the Naga National Democratic Party. He was also a composer and an accomplished singer of his time and is best known for composing the Angami folk song ''Ara Kezivi''. Biography John Bosco Jasokie was born in 1927 to an Angami Naga family from Khonoma. He was the son of Dr. Khosa Zinyü (the first Naga Surgeon and member of the Naga Labour Corp). He served as a guide for Allied Forces during the World War II.
