Koerner, Ray And Glover
Koerner, Ray & Glover was a loose-knit group of three blues musicians from Minneapolis, Minnesota: "Spider" John Koerner on guitar and vocals, Dave "Snaker" Ray on guitar and vocals, and Tony "Little Sun" Glover on harmonica. They were notable figures of the revival of folk music and blues in the 1960s. History Koerner, Ray and Glover, three White Americans, met in the folk music scene around the University of Minnesota, when Koerner and Ray were students. Their common interest in folk music and blues led them to record and perform in various configurations, in solo turns and duets, but rarely as a trio. Bob Dylan (legally Robert Dylan, born Robert Allen Zimmerman, May 24, 1941) is an American singer-songwriter. ''The Return of Koerner, Ray and Glover'' is an album by Koerner, Ray & Glover, released in 1965. It was their last recording for Elektra and it would be seven years before the trio's next release. Koerner appeared at the 1965 Newport Folk Festival accompanied by Glover, one of the few times the two performed without Dave Ray. ''The Return of Koerner, Ray and Glover'' was reissued by Red House Records in 1999. History Between this release and their next, Dave Ray and John Koerner each recorded a solo album, ''Snaker's Here'' and ''Spider Blues'', respectively. The trio also appeared at the 1964 Newport Folk Festival, where their performance was recorded for the Vanguard Records album ''Newport Folk Festival 1964: Evening Concerts Vol. 3''. The songs performed by the trio included "Blackjack Davy" and "What's the Matter with the Mill". First Avenue (nightclub)
First Avenue & 7th St Entry are two historic music venues housed in the same landmark building in downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota. The nightclub sits on the corner of First Avenue North and 7th Street North, from which the venues get their names. The two are colloquially distinguished by locals as The Mainroom and The Entry.
