Kodoku (manga)
, also called , , and is a type of poisonous magic found in Japanese folklore. It is the Japanese derivative of the Chinese magic. It is said to have been widely used in ancient China. It is not clear for how long it has been used, but scholars of Chinese characters such as Shizuka Shirakawa, who advocates the importance of magic in ancient times, have found traces of poison in the oracle bone script of the Yin and Zhou dynasties. The earliest record of worms is in the Geography of the Suishu reads: To create , sorcerers would mix several insects in a jar, and let them kill one another until only one survived. The fluids of the insect that survived would be used to poison an individual with a curse that would control them, cause them misfortune, or kill them. Japanese folklore encompasses the informally learned folk traditions of Japan and the Japanese people as expressed in its oral traditions, customs, and material culture. Dengeki Bunko
is a publishing imprint affiliated with the Japanese publishing company ASCII Media Works (formerly MediaWorks). It was established in June 1993 with the publication of '' Hyōryū Densetsu Crystania'' volume one, and is a light novel imprint aimed at a male audience. The editors in charge of this imprint have a reputation for welcoming new authors, and hold a yearly contest, the ''Dengeki Novel Prize'', to discover new talent. A light novel (, Hepburn: ''raito noberu'') is a style of young adult novel primarily targeting high school and middle school students. Kiryū (band)
is a Japanese visual kei metal band founded in 2007 with the concept of "Japanese terror" and "painful nostalgia". Formed by vocalist Mahiro Kurosaki, guitarist Mitsuki Sakai, bassist Hiyori Isshiki and drummer Junji Tokai, each member is represented by a color. They have been part of the independent label B.P Records since 2009. Guitarist Takemasa Kujō has not featured in the band's public appearances since December 2021, but it is reported that he still participates in production and songwriting. Visual Kei
is a movement among Japanese musicians that is characterized by the use of varying levels of make-up, elaborate hair styles and flamboyant costumes, often, but not always, coupled with androgynous aesthetics, similar to Western glam rock. Some Western sources consider visual kei a music genre, with its sound usually related to glam rock, punk rock and heavy metal. However, visual kei acts play various genres, including those considered by some as unrelated to rock such as electronic, pop, etc. Other sources, including members of the movement themselves, state that it is not a music genre and that the freedom of expression, fashion, and participation in the related subculture is what exemplifies the use of the term.
