Kodiak Kowboy
Kodiak Kowboy (foaled April 16, 2005 in Kentucky) is a retired American Thoroughbred racehorse owned by Vinery Stables and Fox Hill Farms and trained by Steve Asmussen. He was also trained by Larry Jones for part of his career. In 2007 he won a Sovereign Award as Canadian Champion 2-Year-Old Colt. Kodiak Kowboy is a multiple grade one winning horse and top class sprinter. In 2009, he was voted the Eclipse Award as the American Champion Sprint Horse (2009) for his victories in the Carter Handicap, Vosburgh Stakes and Cigar Mile Handicap. He was retired to stud duty on November 28, 2009 and stood at the Vinery in 2010 as the property of a syndicate for a fee of $15,000. He shuttled to Brazil in 2014 and then was transferred to Brazil in 2015, and after that, relocated to Uruguay in 2017. Silver Deputy
Silver Deputy (February 25, 1985, in Ontario – October 4, 2014) was a Canadian Thoroughbred racehorse best known as a top sire in North America. He was a son of Deputy Minister, who was an Eclipse and Sovereign Award winning runner and the 1997/98 Leading sire in North America. His dam was Silver Valley, a daughter of Mr. Prospector, the 1987/88 Leading sire in North America and nine-time Leading broodmare sire in North America. Silver Deputy was purchased for $200,000 by Windfields Farm of Oshawa, Ontario at the Fasig-Tipton July 1986 select yearling auction in Kentucky. After he won the Grade III Swynford Stakes at Woodbine Racetrack, an injury ended his racing career and he began stallion duty in 1989. Eclipse Award
The Eclipse Award is an American Thoroughbred horse racing award named after the 18th-century British racehorse and sire, Eclipse. An Eclipse Award Trophy is presented to the winner in each division that is made by a few small selected American foundries with expertise in studio bronze casting. It is then mounted on the hand-crafted native Kentucky walnut base to comprise the Eclipse Award on which a brass plate recites the award winner. Monmouth Park
Monmouth Park Racetrack is an American race track for thoroughbred horse racing in Oceanport, New Jersey, United States. It is owned by the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority and is operated under a five-year lease as a partnership with Darby Development, LLC. Monmouth Park's marquee event is the Haskell Invitational, named after Amory L. Haskell. The Haskell was first run in 1968 as a handicap, but was made into an Invitational Handicap in 1981. Saratoga Race Course is a Thoroughbred horse racing track located on Union Avenue in Saratoga Springs, New York, United States. Churchill Downs is a horse racing complex located on Central Avenue in south Louisville, Kentucky, United States, famed for hosting the annual Kentucky Derby.
