Kobita Ramdanee
Kobita Jugnauth (née Ramdanee) is the wife of Pravind Jugnauth, the leader of the Militant Socialist Movement (MSM) and current Prime Minister of Mauritius. It is the second time that she is holding the title of Spouse of the Prime Minister of Mauritius given that her husband has held the office of Prime Minister twice, first from 2017 to 2019 and again from 2019 to now. Early life Kobita is the daughter of Ursule Jeannine Maunick and Sir Kailash Ramdanee. Sir Kailash Ramdanee founded the Mauritius Pharmaceuticals Manufacturing Co. Ltd which pioneered the manufacture of medicines in Mauritius. Kobita completed her secondary education at Queen Elizabeth College, Mauritius. Kobita Ramdanee married Pravind Jugnauth in 1992. Sarojini Ballah, The Right Honorable Lady Jugnauth (commonly known as ''Lady Sarojini Jugnauth''), a former Spouse of the Prime Minister of Mauritius is the widow of Sir Anerood Jugnauth. She previously held the position from 1982 to 1995 and from 2000 to 2003, most recent from 2014 to 2017. She was the First Lady of Mauritius from 2003 to 2012 when her husband served as President of the country. She is a primary school teacher by profession and is the mother of Shalini Malhotra and Pravind Jugnauth. Militant Socialist Movement
The Militant Socialist Movement (french: Mouvement Socialiste Militant; abbreviated MSM) is a centre-left political party in Mauritius. It is the largest single political party in the National Assembly of Mauritius, winning 42 of the 69 seats in the 2019 general elections. It also holds the largest number of seats in all city/town councils through the country with 60 councilors out of 120. The MSM is one of the three biggest political parties in the country, the others being the Labour Party (PTR) and Mouvement Militant Mauricien (MMM). Pravind Kumar Jugnauth (born 25 December 1961) is a Mauritian politician serving as the prime minister of Mauritius since January 2017. Jugnauth has been the leader of the Militant Socialist Movement (MSM) party since April 2003. He has held a number of ministerial portfolios and also been Leader of the Opposition. Early life and education Born on 25 December 1961 in La Caverne, a suburb area in Vacoas-Phoenix, Mauritius, Jugnauth was born into a Hindu Yaduvanshi family. Queen Elizabeth College (QEC) is a girls secondary school in Mauritius.
