Kobie Turner
Kobie Turner (born April 26, 1999) is an American football defensive end for the Los Angeles Rams of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Richmond and Wake Forest. Career Turner attended Centreville High School in Fairfax County, Virginia. Turner joined the University of Richmond as a walk-on in 2018. He played at Richmond from 2018 to 2021. In 2021, he was named the CAA Co-Defensive Player of the Year. Overall, he played in 37 games with 27 starts and recorded 158 tackles and 15 sacks. Turner transferred to Wake Forest University in 2022. He finished the year with 38 tackles and two sacks. This position has designated the players at each end of the defensive line, but changes in formation (American football), formations over the years have substantially changed how the position is played. Wake Forest University
Wake Forest University is a private research university in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Founded in 1834, the university received its name from its original location in Wake Forest, north of Raleigh, North Carolina. Colonial Athletic Association
The Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) is a collegiate athletic conference affiliated with the NCAA's Division I whose full members are located in East Coast states from Massachusetts to South Carolina. Most of its members are public universities, and the conference is headquartered in Richmond. The CAA was historically a Southern conference until the addition of four schools in the Northeast (of five that joined from rival conference America East) after the turn of the 21st century, which added geographic balance to the conference. The CAA was founded in 1979 as the ECAC South basketball league. It was renamed the Colonial Athletic Association in 1985 when it added championships in other sports (although a number of members maintain ECAC affiliation in some sports). A walk-on, in American and Canadian college athletics, is an athlete who becomes part of a team without being recruited and awarded an athletic scholarship. A team's walk-on players are normally the weakest players and relegated to the scout team, and may not even be placed on the official depth chart or traveling team, while the scholarship players are the team's main players. However, a walk-on player occasionally becomes a noted member of the team.
