Knut Buen
Knut Buen (born 31 October 1948) is a Norwegian fiddler, composer, folklorist and publisher. He was born in Kongsberg; the son of folk musician Anders Buen and Margit Tjønn, and is brother of Hauk Buen, Agnes Buen Garnås and the artist Kari Buen. He won the national music contest ''Landskappleiken'' in 1983 and 1986, and is known for his collection of traditional songs and melodies. He received Spellemannprisen in 1992 for the album ''Fykerud'n'' (in cooperation with Hauk Buen), and in 1994 for the album ''Bjølleslåtten'' (together with Kåre Nordstoga Kåre Nordstoga (born 18 December 1954) is a Norwegian organist. Kongsberg
Kongsberg () is a historical mining town and municipality in Buskerud, Viken county, Norway. The city is located on the river Numedalslågen at the entrance to the valley of Numedal. Kongsberg has been a centre of silver mining, arms production and forestry for centuries, and is the site of high technology industry including the headquarters of Norway's largest defence contractor Kongsberg Gruppen. Knut Helle
Knut Helle (19 December 1930 – 27 June 2015) was a Norwegian historian. A professor at the University of Bergen from 1973 to 2000, he specialized in the late medieval history of Norway. He has contributed to several large works. Early life, education and marriage He was born in Larvik as the son of school inspector Hermann Olai Helle (1893–1973) and teacher Berta Marie Malm (1906–1991). He was the older brother of politician Ingvar Lars Helle. The family moved to Hetland when Knut Helle was seventeen years old. He took the examen artium in Stavanger in 1949, and a teacher's education in Kristiansand in 1952. He studied philology in Oslo and Bergen, and graduated with the cand.philol. degree in 1957. Hauk Buen
Hauk Buen (11 May 1933 – 1 March 2021) was a Norwegian hardingfele fiddler and fiddle maker. Buen was born in Kongsberg and was a brother of Knut Buen and Agnes Buen Garnås. Among his albums are ''Fykerudn'' from 1992 (in cooperation with his brother Knut), which was awarded Spellemannprisen, and ''Feledåm'' from 2000. He was awarded the King's Medal of Merit in gold in 2003. Buen has inspired and influenced fiddler Annbjørg Lien Annbjørg Lien (born 15 October 1971) is a Norwegian musician, playing the hardingfele (Hardanger fiddle), violin, and nyckelharpa.
