Knut Blom
Knut Blom (14 February 1916 – 6 February 1996) was a Norwegian judge. He served as a Supreme Court Justice from 1968 to 1986. He was born in Kristiania as a son of barrister Hans Jensen Blom (1875–1952) and Anna Martens Wingaard (1877–1947). He was a great-grandson of Oluf Petersen Wingaard. He finished his secondary education in 1934, started law studies and graduated with the cand.jur. degree in 1939. He was hired as a junior solicitor under Carl Fridtjof Rode in Melbu in the same year, and took over the attorney's office when Rode was called to naval duty shortly thereafter. From 1940 to 1942 Blom was a deputy judge in Jæren District Court, and from 1942 he was a junior solicitor under Sven Arntzen; from 1947 a partner. During the German occupation of Norway Blom had contacts in Hjemmefrontens Ledelse. Knut Helle
Knut Helle (19 December 1930 – 27 June 2015) was a Norwegian historian. A professor at the University of Bergen from 1973 to 2000, he specialized in the late medieval history of Norway. He has contributed to several large works. Early life, education and marriage He was born in Larvik as the son of school inspector Hermann Olai Helle (1893–1973) and teacher Berta Marie Malm (1906–1991). He was the older brother of politician Ingvar Lars Helle. The family moved to Hetland when Knut Helle was seventeen years old. He took the examen artium in Stavanger in 1949, and a teacher's education in Kristiansand in 1952. He studied philology in Oslo and Bergen, and graduated with the cand.philol. degree in 1957. The Defence Medal 1940–1945 () is the award rewarded to those military and civilian personnel who participated in the fight against the German invasion and occupation of Norway between 1940 and 1945. The Defence Medal 1940–1945 can be awarded both to Norwegian and foreign citizens. The medal may still be awarded due to the large number of participants in the defence of Norway during World War II and the difficulties tracking down all eligible recipients. The medal is in bronze. On the obverse is the coat of arms with the inscription . On the reverse is the royal flag, the flag and national flag. Above these a narrow circle with the inscription (Participant in the struggle). The image is surrounded by a chain. The band is in the Norwegian national colors. The band can be fitted with a rosette if the recipient has distinguished himself several times. The Eidsivating Court of Appeal ( no, Eidsivating lagmannsrett) is one of six courts of appeal in the Kingdom of Norway. The Court is located in the city of Hamar.
